As of August 18, 2026, the claim that the Galaxy Z Flip7 and Fold7 just received their biggest discounts yet in the U.S. is not verified as a universal price cut. Samsung lists the unlocked Flip7 from $1,099.99 and the unlocked Fold7 from $1,999.99 before trade-in. Its advertised savings—up to $600 for the Flip7 and up to $1,000 for the Fold7—depend on an eligible trade-in, and the actual credit varies by device. A Best Buy offer that appeared to drop a Z-series phone to $699.99 with a $200 e-gift card ended August 6, so it is not evidence of a live August 18 deal.
That distinction matters: an instant discount, a trade-in estimate, a carrier’s monthly bill credits and a gift card are not the same as paying less for an unlocked phone today.
Galaxy Z Flip7 and Fold7 prices and advertised savings
The figures below separate new phones from Samsung Certified Re-Newed models and distinguish advertised maximums from confirmed checkout prices. Samsung’s live product pages and inventory can change; confirm the selected storage, color, trade-in value and amount due before ordering.

Samsung’s surfaced product pages also list the Flip7 512GB at $1,299.99 and the Fold7 at $2,199.99 for 512GB and $2,499.99 for 1TB. Those higher-tier prices can vary across product and pricing materials, so verify the exact configuration in the live cart rather than applying the starting price to every model.
Flip7: up to $600 is a trade-in maximum, not a blanket markdown
The unlocked Flip7’s listed starting price is $1,099.99 for 256GB. Samsung’s U.S. offer material advertises up to $600 in trade-in savings, but a buyer should not expect that credit without checking the eligible-device list and entering the exact phone being traded in. The amount can depend on the model, condition, storage, whether the device powers on, and the promotion’s eligibility rules. Samsung may adjust or reject a quoted credit after it inspects the trade-in.
The available evidence does not establish a large, general-purpose cash-price cut for a Flip7 buyer with no trade-in on August 18. If you are buying outright, select “No trade-in” at Samsung checkout and compare that actual total with current retailer listings. Do not treat “up to $600 off” as the price every buyer receives.

The new, unlocked Fold7 starts at $1,999.99 for 256GB on Samsung’s U.S. product page. Samsung advertises up to $1,000 in trade-in savings, but that is a maximum, not an unconditional price reduction. Get the value for your own phone and confirm the final cart amount before comparing it with another seller.
Fold7 storage matters: the surfaced Samsung page lists $2,199.99 for 512GB and $2,499.99 for 1TB. If a deal headline refers to the 256GB model, its advertised price may not apply to the larger storage option. Some variants may also be out of stock, making an advertised price unusable for a buyer who needs a particular color or capacity.

Why the $699.99 Best Buy figure is not a current deal
A Best Buy search result surfaced a promotion advertising a new Z-series phone for as low as $699.99 with a qualifying trade-in, plus a $200 e-gift card. The listed end date was August 6, 2026—12 days before this article’s August 18 pricing snapshot. Unless the live listing shows that the offer was extended or replaced, count it as historical, not as money a buyer can save today.
Even when such a promotion is active, separate the device price from the gift card. The gift card is useful only to the extent you would actually spend it at Best Buy, and the $699.99 figure depends on qualifying trade-in terms. Check the live Best Buy deal listing for any replacement promotion.
Certified Re-Newed can be cheaper without a carrier commitment
Samsung’s Certified Re-Newed starting prices are $939 for the Flip7 and $1,699 for the Fold7, with up to $580 in additional advertised trade-in savings. These are renewed, not factory-new phones, and their prices should not be used to support a claim about discounts on new devices.
For a buyer who values a lower upfront device price over a sealed box, a renewed model may be easier to compare than a carrier promotion spread over years. Before purchasing, confirm the available storage and color, warranty, included accessories, return terms and final trade-in price on the actual listing. Availability can be narrower than for new models.
Carrier offers are not the same as an unlocked discount
Carrier promotions can look larger because savings may arrive as monthly bill credits rather than an immediate reduction. They may require a new line, an eligible unlimited plan, a trade-in and 24 or 36 months of service. Taxes, activation fees and other charges may still be due upfront, and leaving or changing plans early can mean losing remaining credits. A “free” phone is not equivalent to an unlocked phone discounted at checkout.
Samsung’s carrier comparison page promotes Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile, but the offers surfaced for this period emphasize the newer Fold8 and Flip8 generation rather than establishing a current Fold7 or Flip7 carrier price. Check the carrier’s own offer for the exact model and calculate the total plan cost over the full credit term before deciding. For an unlocked purchase, use this calculation:
Amount due for the phone = selected configuration’s price − confirmed trade-in credit + taxes and fees.
Count a retailer gift card separately, and subtract only the value you realistically expect to use. Do not add a trade-in credit, instant discount, carrier credits and gift card together unless the specific terms explicitly allow stacking. Samsung says trade-in generally cannot be combined with other promotions unless the offer terms say otherwise.

Total commitment = required plan cost over the credit period + taxes and fees + device charges not covered by bill credits.
If you would have paid for that plan anyway, compare the incremental cost against an unlocked purchase. If the promotion forces you onto a more expensive plan or you may leave before the credits finish, the headline device saving can overstate your real benefit.
In either case, check the specific configuration, stock, due-today amount, trade-in terms and offer end date. Sales tax treatment can vary, and a trade-in estimate is not final until the seller accepts the device.
Should you buy now?
- Buy now through Samsung direct if you want an unlocked phone, have a qualifying trade-in, and the final checkout price—not the maximum headline credit—makes the purchase worthwhile.
- Consider Certified Re-Newed if saving on the device matters more than receiving a factory-new phone and the available configuration suits you.
- Consider a carrier offer only if you already want the qualifying service and are comfortable staying through the bill-credit term. Compare total plan cost and restrictions.
- Wait or compare alternatives if you have no trade-in and see no direct price reduction, the model you want is out of stock, or most of the claimed value is an expired gift-card promotion.
Fold8 and Flip8 promotions were already appearing in July and August 2026, so Fold7 and Flip7 deals may reflect older-generation inventory or clearance rather than a newly established price record. The available evidence does not provide enough current price detail to declare which generation is the better buy; compare their live prices and terms for your needs.

Samsung’s surfaced July launch-period offer terms included discounts of up to $400 on the Fold7 and up to $200 on the Flip7 during specified windows. Those periods have passed, so they are historical context, not current savings. Samsung’s own offer archive and terms should be checked for dates and eligibility.
