Short answer: A May 15, 2026 report said Fizz offered 50GB for $29 per month in Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia. However, Fizz’s official offers page retrieved for this article listed 50GB at $30 per month, not $29. The $29 price should therefore be treated as regional, expired or unconfirmed unless it appears in Fizz’s live plan builder for your address.
Before signing up, check the price, coverage type and final checkout total at Fizz’s mobile plan builder. The advertised Canada-only price should not be assumed to include Canada–U.S. coverage.
Quick verdict
- Reported price: $29 per month for 50GB.
- Current official price found: $30 per month for 50GB on Fizz’s public offers page.
- Reported availability: Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia.
- Nationwide deal? No. Fizz’s subscription area includes five provinces, but the same plan price is not guaranteed in each one.
- Canada–U.S. included? Not established. Canada–U.S. coverage is a separate selection that generally costs more.
- Contract: Fizz advertises no fixed-term contract.
- Main catch: Price, data tier and coverage options can vary by province, address, plan configuration and account status.
Update: The retrieved Fizz offers page showed 50GB for $30 per month. Because mobile prices can change, use the live plan builder rather than relying on the older $29 headline.

Was Fizz’s $29/50GB offer a real flash sale?
The $29 plan was reported by iPhone in Canada on May 15, 2026. That report identified a 50GB plan at $29 per month in three provinces.

But the available evidence does not establish that Fizz launched a formal, nationwide “flash sale” with a published deadline. The official Fizz offers page retrieved for this article listed 50GB for $30 per month, alongside 70GB for $33 and 100GB for $35.
That leaves several possibilities:
- The $29 rate may have been a regional plan-grid price.
- It may have been replaced by the current $30 price.
- It may still appear for some addresses or new activations in the plan builder.
- It may differ from the price available to existing members changing plans.
- The “flash sale” label may describe the deal editorially rather than an official Fizz promotion.
Unless the checkout screen shows $29 and provides a promotion deadline, do not describe the rate as a confirmed current flash sale or a permanent price.
Where was the $29 plan reportedly available?
The reported $29/50GB offer was limited to:
- Ontario
- Alberta
- British Columbia
Fizz’s official documentation says mobile subscriptions are currently available in Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta and British Columbia. That is the subscription area—not a guarantee that every plan or price is available in every province. Manitoba and Quebec residents should not assume they qualify for the reported $29 rate.

Check Fizz’s subscription and coverage documentation before ordering. Your address must fall within the subscription area, and your price may change if you move.
What does the 50GB plan include?
The exact inclusions depend on the configuration shown during signup. Fizz’s public mobile information describes the following features:
- Up to 50GB of mobile data on the relevant plan tier.
- 5G access where supported by the plan, device and location.
- Data rollover, allowing unused data to carry into the following month.
- Data gifting between Fizz members.
- No fixed-term contract.
- Free eSIM ordering where supported by the device and activation process.
- No activation fee, according to Fizz’s mobile page.
Fizz’s offer-page footnote says advertised plan prices are based on unlimited minutes, unlimited texts, voicemail and national coverage. Still, confirm those options in the live configuration before treating the reported $29 price as identical to the current $30 offer.

Visual voicemail may cost extra. Fizz presents visual voicemail as an optional feature priced at $1 per month. The final checkout screen—not the headline price—should determine your expected monthly total.

A $29 or $30 Canada-only plan should not be advertised as a Canada–U.S. plan. Fizz offers provincial, Canada-wide and Canada–U.S. coverage selections, and Canada–U.S. coverage costs more than Canada-only coverage depending on the customized plan.
Fizz says its Canada–U.S. option can provide service in Canada, the United States, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Its listed U.S. partner networks include AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon and Claro. Availability can depend on the network at your location and whether your phone is compatible and VoLTE-certified.

If you regularly call, text or use data in the United States, select the Canada–U.S. option in the plan builder and compare the resulting total. Do not use the Canada-only headline price to estimate your bill.
Coverage and subscription-area rules
Fizz says phones connect first to the Fizz network and may switch to partner networks when necessary. A “Fizz EXT” indicator identifies partner-network use. Coverage maps are estimates; actual reception can vary because of your building, location, device, congestion and network availability.
Fizz also says most usage must occur within its subscription area. If most usage takes place outside that area for three consecutive billing periods, Fizz may restrict or suspend partner-network access.

This matters if you:
- Attend school in a different province from your home address.
- Work seasonally or travel for extended periods.
- Live outside the subscription area for part of the year.
- Move after activating the plan.
- Spend most of your time in a location served only through partner networks.
Check the coverage map for your home, workplace, school and regular travel routes. Fizz’s coverage documentation is available at fizz.ca/en/faq/subscription-area-and-coverage-area.

- Open Fizz’s mobile plan page.
- Enter your service address and province.
- Select the plan showing approximately 50GB.
- Record the monthly base price.
- Check whether the plan is labelled 4G or 5G.
- Confirm minutes, texts, voicemail and coverage selections.
- Check whether Canada–U.S. coverage changes the total.
- Review taxes, optional features and any promotional expiry.
- Confirm whether the price applies only to new activations.
- Save a screenshot of the final price and terms before completing the order.
Repeat the check for Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba and Quebec if you are comparing eligibility across provinces. If the builder shows $30 rather than $29, the older $29 offer is not currently visible for that address and should not be used in your budget.
Is the price permanent?
Fizz describes its service as prepaid and says the base monthly price remains unchanged while you stay on the same plan. That does not mean every promotional or regional price remains available forever.

Keep these distinctions separate:
- Existing-plan price protection: Your price may remain stable while you keep the same plan.
- New-activation price: A rate shown to a new customer may not be available to an existing customer.
- Plan changes: Fizz says changing your plan can produce a different price.
- Regional pricing: The price shown after entering an address may differ by province.
- Promotional pricing: A formal promotion can have its own expiry or eligibility terms.
The secondary report characterized the $29 rate as a regular rather than temporary price, but Fizz’s current public page shows $30 for 50GB. Treat the permanence of the $29 rate as unconfirmed.
How rollover data works
Fizz says unused mobile data automatically rolls over into the next month and that members can gift data to one another. Rollover is useful if your usage changes from month to month, but it does not make the plan unlimited. Check the current account terms for any expiry or maximum-rollover rules before relying on a large accumulated balance.
Who should consider switching?
The plan is most appealing if you:
- Live in a Fizz subscription province.
- Use roughly 50GB or less per month.
- Want a low monthly price and can manage the account online.
- Value rollover data.
- Already own a compatible unlocked phone.
- Do not need a phone subsidy or retail-store support.
- Have checked coverage at the locations where you spend most of your time.
Who should be cautious?
Look elsewhere or verify carefully if you:
- Live outside Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta or British Columbia.
- Need dependable service in remote or poorly covered areas.
- Spend most of the year outside Fizz’s subscription area.
- Need guaranteed U.S. voice service but have not checked VoLTE compatibility.
- Require extensive international roaming.
- Prefer in-person customer support.
- Need Canada–U.S. coverage and are comparing it with a Canada-only $29 headline price.
- Expect the same price to apply automatically nationwide.
Bottom line
The $29/50GB claim has a credible source, but it is not confirmed as a current nationwide Fizz flash sale. The reported offer was limited to Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia, while Fizz’s official offers page retrieved for this article showed 50GB for $30 per month. Verify your address, coverage type and final checkout total before switching—and price Canada–U.S. coverage separately if you need service south of the border.
