Status: historical promotion. Fido’s “Holideals” campaign was reported on December 16, 2025. It advertised discounted 4G BYOD plans and select financed Samsung Galaxy S25-series phones with free Galaxy Buds FE. As of August 18, 2026, Fido’s current public pages no longer present those exact Holideals as an active offer, so shoppers should confirm any replacement deal directly with Fido before ordering.
What Fido’s Holideals included
MobileSyrup reported that Fido’s holiday promotion combined phone financing discounts with BYOD plan offers. Some handset promotions were described as online-only, so the terms available at a Fido store, by phone or through a retailer may not have matched Fido’s website.
The headline Samsung offer paired select Galaxy S25-series phones with free Galaxy Buds FE. The base Galaxy S25 was advertised at $0 down and $25 per month after bill credits.

The Galaxy S25 was not free
“$0 down” meant no upfront device payment—not that the phone cost nothing. The reported $25 monthly price was a financed-device charge after promotional credits. Assuming a 24-month term and credits lasting for the full term, the device payments would total approximately:

$25 × 24 months = $600 before taxes and other charges.
The exact financing term, original pre-credit price, credit amount and conditions should be confirmed in the written offer. Promotional credits can depend on an approved financing application, maintaining an eligible plan and keeping the account in good standing. Cancelling early or changing plans may cause credits to stop and may leave a remaining device balance.

Which Galaxy phones qualified for the free earbuds?
The available December 2025 reporting said the Galaxy Buds FE were included with select Galaxy S25-series smartphones. It does not establish whether every S25-series model qualified, whether the offer covered the Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra and S25 Edge equally, or whether upgrades and new activations were treated the same way.
The evidence also does not confirm the exact online-order requirement, inventory limits, colour options or one-per-account restrictions. Those details should not be inferred from Fido’s older Samsung Galaxy Buds FAQ, which concerns an earlier promotion involving Galaxy S24-family and Galaxy Z devices.
That earlier Fido promotion is useful only as context: Fido has previously handled similar bonuses through online ordering and, in some cases, shown the earbuds on a shipping confirmation rather than the initial order confirmation. That does not prove the same process applied to the 2025 S25 offer.
Reported BYOD plan prices
The Holideals BYOD offers reported by MobileSyrup were Canada-wide calling and texting plans on Fido’s 4G network:

The advertised prices reportedly included a $5 monthly automatic-payments discount and a separate $10 monthly promotional discount. Missing the automatic-payment requirement or losing a promotional credit could increase the bill.
These were reported as 4G plans, not 5G plans. The accessible coverage did not establish that U.S. or Mexico usage was included, so frequent travellers should not assume North American roaming benefits.
International calling and roaming
MobileSyrup reported a separate $2-per-month Worldwide Combo add-on offering unlimited calls to select countries, international texts and 10% off Fido Roam. “Worldwide” did not mean unlimited calling to every country. The eligible countries, included quantities and current availability require confirmation from the applicable plan details.
What the combined bill could have looked like
A customer who qualified for the reported $40 BYOD plan and the Galaxy S25 financing could have had this illustrative monthly subtotal:
- Wireless plan: $40
- Galaxy S25 financing after credits: $25
- Subtotal: approximately $65 per month before taxes and other charges
Over 24 months, the phone portion would be about $600, while the service portion would be $960 at $40 per month. Together, that is approximately $1,560 before taxes, setup charges, optional add-ons, roaming and any change in promotional pricing. This is a comparison calculation, not a guaranteed invoice.

Who was likely eligible?
The reported offers appear to have targeted several customer groups:
- New customers activating a Fido line.
- Existing Fido customers upgrading to an eligible phone.
- BYOD customers activating or switching to a qualifying plan.
- Customers approved for device financing.
- Customers meeting the automatic-payments condition for the advertised plan price.
The available evidence does not fully establish whether every offer was open to existing customers, whether upgrades qualified for the earbuds or whether the BYOD pricing was limited to new activations. Those points would have depended on the original offer terms.
Questions to ask before accepting a similar offer
- Is the Galaxy Buds FE bonus still available, or has inventory run out?
- Which exact S25 models qualify?
- Does the offer apply to upgrades as well as new activations?
- Is the promotion online-only?
- What are the phone’s pre-credit monthly price and financing term?
- How long will the device credits continue?
- What happens to the remaining device balance if the line is cancelled?
- Is the advertised plan price dependent on automatic payments?
- Are hotspot access and promotional data permanent plan features?
- Does the plan include U.S. or Mexico usage?
- Are taxes, setup charges and optional services extra?
Common problems and how to document them
If an advertised accessory is missing, save screenshots of the offer, the checkout page, order confirmation and shipping confirmation, then contact Fido promptly. If a bill credit does not appear, check the first and second bills and ask Fido to identify the credit’s start date and duration.

If a store quotes a different price, compare the written plan summary and checkout total before completing the transaction. For an early cancellation or plan change, request the remaining device balance and the effect on promotional credits in writing.
Was Holideals a good deal?
For someone who already wanted a Galaxy S25 and expected to stay with Fido for the full financing term, the Buds FE bonus could have added useful value. But the phone still cost money, and the relevant comparison was the full 24-month cost—not the $0 down headline.
The BYOD plans were more attractive to customers prioritizing data volume and Canada-wide use than to people who needed 5G, U.S./Mexico roaming or extensive international calling. Contemporary competitor coverage reported that Virgin Plus, Koodo and other carriers offered comparable or differently structured holiday plans, so shoppers should compare data, network access, roaming and total cost rather than matching only the monthly price.
For current options, start with Fido’s current plans page and Galaxy S25 page. If you prefer to separate the handset from your carrier, Samsung Canada’s direct financing offer may be a useful alternative, subject to its own terms. A retailer such as Best Buy Canada may show different Fido financing or gift-card incentives; retailer offers should not be treated as confirmation of Fido-direct pricing.
