The discounts ranged from a Stream Deck control surface to microphones, lighting, a capture card, a headset, a keyboard, and a mouse. Which was worth buying depended less on the discount percentage than on what the recipient’s setup was missing.
HotHardware disclosed that it could earn affiliate commissions from purchases through its links. The prices below are the article’s historical U.S. listings; seller, stock, shipping, and final checkout price could vary. See the original roundup.

Elgato: upgrades for a creator’s setup
Stream Deck +: for repetitive controls, not missing equipment
The Stream Deck + combines eight LCD keys, four dials, and a touch strip. It is aimed at people who want quick controls for scenes, audio, lights, apps, or editing tasks. Elgato describes support for more than 200 plugins, keyboard shortcuts, Multi Actions, Smart Profiles, and Wave Link integration. Check Elgato’s current product information.

It makes most sense for an established streamer, editor, photographer, or podcaster who has tasks worth automating. It will not fix poor audio or lighting, and it is unnecessary for someone without a programmable workflow. A no-cost way to try the idea is Elgato’s Stream Deck Mobile free six-key tier, before committing to a hardware control surface.
Wave:3: a simple USB-mic route, with room-noise caveats
The 2024 deal was for the original Wave:3. Elgato’s current product listing is Wave:3 MK.2, shown at $169.99, with USB connectivity, headphone monitoring, onboard DSP, Clipguard, VST effects, Auto Gain, and Wave Link software. Those current details and price should not be confused with the 2024 offer. See the current Wave:3 MK.2 listing.
A USB microphone can be a practical upgrade from a laptop or webcam mic for a new streamer or podcaster, especially when software mixing is useful. But the Wave:3 is a condenser, and a loud or echoing room can still be audible. A stand, arm, or shock mount may also add cost. In a noisy room, consider whether a dynamic microphone better suits the environment; the 2024 roundup did not compare microphones in testing.

Facecam MK.2: for people who need video and already have audio
The historical listing called it Facecam MK.2. Elgato’s current page calls the product Facecam and lists 1080p60 video, HDR up to 1080p60, a Sony sensor, USB 3.0 operation, Camera Hub controls, and a built-in privacy shutter; the page lists $139.99. Check the exact model and SKU before relying on a listing or buying a purported MK.2. See Elgato’s current Facecam page.
This is a better match for someone who streams or video-calls regularly, wants a dedicated webcam, and already has acceptable audio. If the recipient has no need for video or already owns a capable camera, the webcam may add little. A phone or mirrorless camera can be an alternative, but usually brings more setup, mounting, power, or software requirements.
Key Light: often the more visible fix for a dim setup
Elgato’s current Key Light listing shows $179.99 and describes a full-sized LED panel rated at 2,800 lumens, with a 2,900–7,000 K color range, CRI above 94%, app control, and Stream Deck integration. These are manufacturer-listed specifications, not a guarantee that one light will suit every room. Check the current Key Light page.

If a webcam image looks poor because the subject is dim or unevenly lit, improving the light may matter more than buying a pricier camera or another control accessory. The buyer still needs room for placement or mounting, and distance and angle affect the result. A basic LED panel or softbox can address the same core exposure problem for less, though without Elgato’s integration.
HD60 X: a historical deal on hardware now marked discontinued
The HD60 X was listed at $139.99 in 2024 for people capturing HDMI video from a console or another external source to a computer, while passing the signal through to a display. Elgato now marks the model discontinued, says existing owners continue to receive software and documentation support, and identifies 4K S as its successor. Also distinguish passthrough from capture. A card’s ability to pass a high-resolution signal to a monitor does not mean it records that same resolution. Compatibility depends on the HDMI source, display chain, computer, USB bandwidth, operating system, and streaming software. A PC gamer who streams gameplay directly may not need a capture card at all.

Corsair: gaming gear that may complement a stream
Virtuoso Max Wireless: a feature-rich gaming headset
The 2024 article described the Virtuoso Max with Dolby Atmos, active noise cancellation, transparency mode, NVIDIA Broadcast microphone processing, SoundID personalization through iCUE, and Bluetooth, 2.4GHz wireless, and wired connections. It reported up to 60 hours of battery life with RGB disabled; that is an “up to” figure, not a guaranteed runtime. See Corsair’s product page.
It may suit a gamer who wants one headset for play, chat, and general listening, and values wireless options or ANC. Those extras do not automatically make it the right choice for a creator whose priority is the quality of a public-facing microphone. Current price and availability were not verified in the source check, so $289.99 belongs only to the 2024 deal snapshot.
K65 Plus Wireless: compact, but not full-size
The K65 Plus Wireless is a 75% mechanical keyboard. Its smaller footprint leaves more desk room for a mouse, microphone, or Stream Deck, while retaining arrow keys and a compact navigation layout. The trade-off is that it does not have a numpad or every key arrangement found on a full-size keyboard. Check the recipient’s layout preference before buying. See Corsair’s K65 Plus Wireless page.

M65: the largest discount is no guarantee of a good fit
The M65 was the steepest reported discount at 38%, or $49.99. It may appeal to an FPS player who likes its form and controls, but a mouse is a particularly personal purchase: grip, hand size, preferred weight, and button placement matter. If you do not know those preferences, keep the receipt and confirm the return policy. See Corsair’s M65 page.
What should you buy first?
- Viewers cannot hear the creator clearly? Prioritize a microphone, then consider room noise and placement. A premium headset is not necessarily a substitute for a dedicated mic.
- The picture is dark or unflattering? Try lighting before spending more on a camera. Check available desk or wall space.
- There is no suitable camera? A webcam is a practical choice for a person who actually needs video; skip it if a capable camera is already in use.
- They need console footage in a computer stream? Investigate a capture card and confirm the HDMI, display, computer, USB, and software chain. Do not buy one for PC-only streaming by default.
- The equipment works, but operating it is fiddly? A Stream Deck can streamline repeated controls, provided the recipient uses compatible apps and enjoys configuring workflows.
- They are mainly a gamer, not a creator? Consider the headset, keyboard, or mouse—but check comfort, layout, grip, and ecosystem preferences first.
Before buying, find out whether the recipient uses Windows, macOS, or another supported platform; what ports and USB bandwidth are available; whether they use OBS, Discord, iCUE, Wave Link, or Camera Hub; and how much desk space they have. Cameras, microphones, and capture devices can compete for bandwidth when connected through a shared laptop hub. Software-dependent features also mean setup time is part of the gift.

For any marketplace listing, check seller identity, whether the item is new, fulfillment, warranty, shipping, and the return window. That matters especially for peripherals where comfort and personal fit can only be established by the recipient.
