Eclypsium announced a $45 million Series C on January 28, 2025, combining equity and debt to fund planned expansion into AI-compute hardware, connected devices and additional markets. The company described the round as oversubscribed. It named four new investors and three returning backers, but did not disclose a valuation or how the financing was divided between equity and debt.
Who invested in Eclypsium’s Series C?
Eclypsium’s announcement named Qualcomm Ventures, Pavilion Capital, Singtel Innov8 and Sixty Degree Capital as new investors. Existing investors Ten Eleven Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) and Madrona also participated. The company did not identify a lead investor or disclose individual investment amounts.
Qualcomm Ventures’ participation is notable given Eclypsium’s stated interest in AI hardware and connected devices; Singtel Innov8 is relevant to its planned focus on APAC. Those connections offer strategic context, but the announcement does not say either investor dictated the company’s expansion plans. Eclypsium’s Series C announcement also does not report a company valuation, revenue, profitability, customer count or post-money valuation.
What Eclypsium does—and why hardware security is different
Eclypsium focuses on technology and infrastructure supply-chain security. Its stated scope includes hardware and firmware, software dependencies, device and infrastructure visibility, threat detection, validation, and automated updates and response. That makes its positioning broader than conventional endpoint protection: the concern is not only what runs on a device’s operating system, but also the firmware, components and infrastructure on which devices and systems depend.

This distinction matters for servers, GPUs, network equipment and connected devices. A weakness in firmware or a component can sit below the layer monitored by many application- or endpoint-focused tools. Eclypsium’s argument is that organizations need ways to assess and manage risk across those foundational layers as well as their software.
Why AI infrastructure was part of the expansion plan
The company said the financing would help it address AI-compute hardware, generative-AI infrastructure, GPU-cloud environments, smart connected devices and edge infrastructure. AI systems rely on fleets of servers and accelerators, along with network equipment, firmware and supporting components. Eclypsium’s investment thesis is that securing this infrastructure requires attention to the supply chain and device layers, not just AI applications.
That is a market rationale, not evidence that all AI hardware is insecure or that the funding itself will make those systems safer. Eclypsium linked its plans to rising dependence on AI-enabled infrastructure and threats it characterized as including nation-state supply-chain attacks and ransomware. Those threat claims reflect the company’s framing in its financing release.

- OPTIMIZED FOR MEDIUM-SIZED BUSINESSES: Tailored for businesses needing robust security without the infrastructure of larger enterprises.
- RELIABLE CUSTOMER SUPPORT: FortiCare Premium ensures high-quality support and service continuity.
- EFFECTIVE PROTECTION: Employs advanced filtering technologies to safeguard against sophisticated threats.
Where the company planned to expand
Eclypsium said it intended to scale in North American commercial and U.S. federal markets, APAC and emerging regions. It also planned to broaden its work around critical GenAI hardware and smart connected devices. In this context, “global expansion” describes intended geographic and product-market growth—not proof that the company had already established operations in every named region.
The capital was also intended to support an expanded supply-chain research lab, including device-security testing, security assurance and certification work for customers and industry partners. The announcement uses “certification” broadly; it does not identify a particular regulatory accreditation, formal standard or independent certification authority.
What the $45 million figure does—and does not—mean
The $45 million was described as a combined equity-and-debt financing, so it should not be treated as a $45 million all-equity round. Eclypsium called the round oversubscribed, a company-reported description that does not disclose demand, allocation terms or valuation. It also reported $85 million in total equity funding at the time. Because that wording refers specifically to equity funding while the Series C included debt, it should not be restated as $85 million in combined equity and debt.

- 【Up to 1100 Mbps VPN Speed 】 Hardware-accelerated WireGuard and OpenVPN-DCO deliver up to 1100 Mbps VPN throughput, over 3× faster than Brume 2 for smooth remote access and file transfers.
- 【Three 2.5G Ports & Multi-WAN】Tri-port 2.5GbE design with flexible WAN LAN configuration supports multi-gigabit wired setups, dual-ISP Multi-WAN and failover to keep home and SOHO networks online.
- 【Stealth VPN Obfuscation】VPN obfuscation disguises VPN traffic as regular HTTPS, helping you evade blocking, bypass restrictive networks and maintain stable, private connections.
- 【DPI protection】Deep Packet Inspection with visual dashboards blocks adult/gambling/malicious sites, while SQM and QoS prioritize gaming, calls, and video when bandwidth is tight
- 【OpenWrt & USB 3.0 Expansion】OpenWrt with 1GB DDR4 and 8GB eMMC lets you install plugins and build VPN, ad-blocking or NAS, while USB 3.0 Type‑C connects high-speed storage or 4G/5G dongles
The release does not break down the debt and equity portions, explain repayment terms or allocate proceeds among research, product development and geographic expansion. Nor does it set out a hiring plan, office-opening schedule, customer targets or revenue milestones. Those details would be needed to assess how much of the announced plan was subsequently achieved.

Eclypsium funding timeline
- December 2018: $8.75 million Series A.
- October 2020: $13 million funding round.
- October 2022: $25 million Series B; Eclypsium said this brought its total funding to $50 million.
- January 2025: $45 million Series C, combining equity and debt; the company reported $85 million in total equity funding.
- March 19, 2026: An additional $25 million strategic financing, led by PEAK6 Strategic Capital with participation from a top-three U.S. bank. Eclypsium said the financing brought total funding to more than $100 million.
The cumulative figures use different descriptions—equity funding in the 2025 announcement and total funding in the 2026 announcement—so they should not be mechanically added as though each release reported the same accounting measure. The later financing is the more current funding milestone: the 2025 Series C is not Eclypsium’s latest announced capital raise. See the company’s March 2026 financing announcement.
What the investment signals
The round points to investor interest in security at the hardware and device layers as AI infrastructure and connected equipment scale. It also reflects the capital-intensive nature of this work: device testing, hardware and firmware research, specialized lab capacity and vendor relationships can require resources beyond ordinary software development. Eclypsium’s commercial and federal target markets may also involve complex assurance requirements and lengthy procurement cycles.

But a funding announcement is not a performance report. The available statements do not establish the company’s valuation, financial health, customer growth, competitive position or whether its planned regional expansion delivered measurable results. They show what Eclypsium said it intended to do with the capital—and, in the 2026 update, that it later secured additional financing.
