Samsung Electronics’ corporate headquarters is at 129 Samsung-ro, Yeongtong-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea—in Suwon, not central Seoul. The address is part of Samsung Digital City, a working corporate and research campus. Visitors generally cannot roam the offices or laboratories; the public-facing way to experience the site is the Samsung Innovation Museum (S/I/M), which operates under its own entrance, reservation and opening-hour rules.
Where is Samsung Electronics headquartered?
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. lists its Korean headquarters at 129 Samsung-ro, Yeongtong-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do, Korea. The company’s 2025 business-report listing gives the corporate telephone number as +82-31-200-1114 (Samsung Korea business-report listing).
Suwon is a separate city south of Seoul in the Seoul metropolitan area. Calling this address “Samsung’s Seoul headquarters” is therefore imprecise. It is the headquarters of Samsung Electronics, not automatically the headquarters of every company in the broader Samsung Group. For example, Samsung SDI lists its own headquarters in Yongin (Samsung SDI global network).
What is Samsung Digital City?
Samsung Digital City is the name commonly used for Samsung Electronics’ large Suwon campus. It combines corporate functions with product development, engineering, testing, research and employee facilities. It is a controlled workplace, not a conventional tourist attraction.

The campus has evolved from a manufacturing-oriented complex toward an R&D-centered environment. Samsung’s historical account of the Suwon site describes the R5 mobile-research facility completed in 2013 as two 27-story buildings designed for about 10,000 people; those figures describe that period and are not a current campus-capacity claim (Samsung Newsroom Korea’s historical account).
Why Suwon matters to Samsung’s innovation network
A long-standing electronics R&D base
Samsung says it opened an Information and Communications R&D Center in Suwon in December 2001, bringing together engineers working across semiconductors, multimedia and telecommunications (Samsung’s history of the Suwon R&D center). That history helps explain why the address is more than an administrative headquarters: it is closely associated with the company’s product and technology-development ecosystem.
Part of a distributed global company
Suwon is strategically important, but it is not the sole location where Samsung designs, manufactures or coordinates products. Samsung Electronics operates through multiple divisions, subsidiaries, factories, research sites and regional offices.

Samsung Research describes a wider organization with 14 R&D centers in 12 countries, seven global AI centers and more than 10,000 researchers across Samsung Research and overseas centers. Those figures apply to the network, not to the Suwon campus alone (Samsung Research).
For scale, Samsung reports 259,149 Samsung Electronics employees worldwide in 2025, including 124,564 in Korea (Samsung Facts & Figures). Its Global Newsroom reports 221 bases in 76 countries at the end of 2025 (Samsung Global Newsroom fast facts). These are company-wide figures, not a headcount for Suwon.
Samsung Innovation Museum: the public gateway
The Samsung Innovation Museum, commonly called S/I/M, is the practical public experience connected with the campus. Its exhibitions cover the history of electronics, major technological breakthroughs, Samsung’s corporate development, and present and future-facing technologies (official museum homepage).

What the exhibitions cover
- A first-floor history museum focused on the development of electronics.
- Displays covering landmark technologies such as the transistor, integrated circuits, semiconductors and display technologies, as described by Samsung.
- Product and technology exhibits on additional floors.
- A third-floor area presenting Samsung technologies and future-oriented innovation.
The museum combines general electronics history with Samsung’s own institutional story. Its interpretation is therefore valuable as a corporate archive and exhibition, while reflecting Samsung’s perspective rather than an entirely independent account of the industry.

Can tourists tour Samsung headquarters?
You can visit the museum under its visitor rules, but you should not assume access to Samsung Digital City itself. Ordinary visitors do not receive general access to employee offices, laboratories, testing areas or restricted campus facilities.
The museum FAQ specifically warns visitors not to enter through Samsung Electronics Digital City’s main gate or center gate. The designated museum entrance is connected to the parking tower at the Samsung Electronics main gate (museum FAQ). Treat the museum as the public destination and the surrounding campus as a controlled workplace.

How to get there without getting lost
- Search for “Samsung Innovation Museum” in your GPS or map service, rather than searching only for “Samsung Electronics headquarters.”
- Follow the museum’s designated approach and entrance information (official map and directions).
- Do not try to enter through the general Digital City gates.
- Allow extra time for parking, security and locating the correct visitor entrance.
- Carry your reservation confirmation for a booked weekday visit.
- Check closures and same-day changes before departure.
The official map supports car and public-transportation planning, but a station-by-station route can change; verify it with a current Korean transit service before setting out.
Who should visit?
- Technology and electronics enthusiasts.
- Samsung customers interested in the company’s history.
- Students, families and visitors already spending time in Suwon.
- Travelers who want a structured museum experience rather than an exterior photo stop.
It is a poor fit if your main goal is to tour active laboratories, enter employee buildings or make a quick stop solely to photograph a headquarters exterior.
What the headquarters reveals about Samsung
Suwon illustrates how Samsung links corporate management, applied research, product development, testing and institutional memory in one major technology campus. Its importance is real, but the company’s innovation is distributed across a global network. The museum offers a controlled window into that story; it does not turn the working campus into an unrestricted public attraction.
