The Galaxy S24 family is a previous-generation lineup, so the best buy in the U.S. is usually a discounted unlocked or manufacturer-certified refurbished phone—not an old launch promotion presented as a current deal. Choose the S24 for a compact, lower-cost phone, the S24+ for a larger screen without Ultra pricing, or the S24 Ultra for its cameras and S Pen. Before paying, compare the final phone cost and any required service plan with the price of a newer Galaxy.
What counts as a good Galaxy S24 deal now?
As of September 28, 2026, Samsung’s U.S. offers page is centered on newer Galaxy models rather than a standard S24 promotion. The S24 market is therefore a mix of remaining new stock, open-box and refurbished units, Samsung Certified Re-Newed phones, and carrier-specific inventory. Availability and prices can vary by storage, seller, and condition; retailer search pages do not establish a particular phone’s checkout price.
Samsung’s December 2024 U.S. price file listed original MSRPs of $799.99 for the 128GB S24, $859.99 for the 256GB S24, $999.99 for the 256GB S24+, $1,119.99 for the 512GB S24+, $1,299.99 for the 256GB S24 Ultra, and $1,419.99 for the 512GB S24 Ultra. A September 2025 Samsung price file listed the S24 128GB at $699.99, so these figures are reference points, not current street prices. Check Samsung’s current U.S. offers and actual product listings before deciding what a discount is worth.
No universal live S24 deal or checkout price is established here. Samsung’s S24 buying page, Best Buy’s unlocked Samsung listings, and its S24 Ultra listings are places to check; verify seller, condition, lock status, and final price in the specific listing and at checkout.

Which Galaxy S24 model should you buy?
Galaxy S24: compact and lower-cost
The standard S24 is the smallest and lightest member of the family, making it the natural choice for one-handed use and a lower purchase price. The 128GB configuration can work for people who stream most media and use cloud storage. For a phone you expect to keep, 256GB is the safer default if its price premium is modest.
Galaxy S24+: bigger screen and battery
The S24+ suits buyers who want a larger display and battery but do not need the Ultra’s camera system or S Pen. Its value depends on the gap to a newer Plus model: if the S24+ approaches that newer phone’s price, the older generation is difficult to justify.

Galaxy S24 Ultra: cameras, screen, and S Pen
The Ultra is the feature-maximal S24, with the family’s largest screen, strongest camera hardware, and an included S Pen. It is also more expensive and heavier. Refurbished inventory can make it appealing, but check screen condition, battery information, repair or replacement-part history, and whether the S Pen is included. A small discount against a newer Ultra is not enough reason on its own to buy older hardware.
Storage matters most when the phone will hold large games, extensive offline media, or substantial 4K video. The 512GB S24 Ultra is relevant to those users; do not pay a large premium for it merely as insurance if your actual storage use is modest.
Compare the real cost, not the advertised monthly price
Use the same time period and include every cost needed to get the phone and keep the service you would actually use:
True cost = phone payments + taxes + activation or upgrade fees + required service premiums − guaranteed trade-in value − guaranteed discounts − usable gift-card value.
Do not value a gift card at face value if you would not otherwise spend it. Compare trade-in offers three ways: carrier promotional value, Samsung’s direct offer, and a private sale or reputable buyback. A larger headline trade-in may depend on bill credits, an expensive plan, or account conditions that make it less valuable in practice.
Hypothetical example
Suppose an offer advertises a $600 phone discount as monthly credits over 36 months, but requires service that costs $20 more per month than the plan you would otherwise keep. The added service costs $720 over the same 36 months, before taxes or fees. Even if you receive all the credits, that offer costs more than buying the phone outright and keeping your current plan. This is an illustration, not a live S24 offer.

Unlocked or carrier-financed?
Unlocked phone
An unlocked purchase is the cleaner fit if you may change carriers, travel internationally, or want to separate the handset price from your service bill. It also avoids depending on future bill credits. The trade-off is that direct discounts and trade-in values may be less dramatic. Confirm that the exact listing says unlocked; do not infer it from the S24 name or an image.
Carrier financing and bill credits
A carrier offer can be worthwhile when you already use the carrier, want to keep the qualifying plan, have an eligible trade-in, and expect to stay through the entire credit period. “Free” commonly means credits applied over time, not that the phone balance disappears immediately. Leaving early can make the remaining balance payable and end future credits.

T-Mobile’s Samsung deals page illustrates how qualifying service, credit, and trade-in terms can apply; read the live offer terms rather than assuming every S24 qualifies. New, open-box, refurbished, or Certified Re-Newed?
New
A factory-sealed phone generally offers the clearest starting point for warranty and returns, but remaining stock may be limited by model and storage. Confirm that “new” means factory-sealed rather than an open-box item or third-party listing.
Open-box
Open-box can mean nearly unused hardware, but contents may be incomplete and the cosmetic grade or return window may differ. Verify the seller’s exact grading and policy before paying.
Retailer-refurbished
“Refurbished” is not one uniform standard. Warranty, testing, battery condition, and return rights depend on the retailer, seller, and grading terms. Read those terms for the specific unit, particularly when the listing is marketplace-supplied.

Samsung Certified Re-Newed
Samsung announced that the S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra joined its Certified Re-Newed program. That makes it a useful lower-risk starting point when the price difference from an anonymous refurb is small. Samsung also advertised a minimum $250 trade-in value toward qualifying Certified Re-Newed Galaxy phones during a limited promotion; that historical guarantee is not a current offer unless live terms confirm it. Buying checklist: verify the exact unit and terms
- Confirm the model, storage capacity, and that it is a U.S. version compatible with your carrier; imported variants can differ in network support, eSIM, and warranty coverage.
- Verify unlocked status in the specific listing and, where possible, on the device itself.
- For a used phone, check that the IMEI is clean and the device is not reported lost, stolen, or still tied to an unpaid account.
- Read the cosmetic grade, battery-health disclosure if one is provided, warranty length, and return period.
- For an S24 Ultra, confirm that the S Pen is included and ask about screen damage and replacement-part history.
- For carrier deals, check eligible plans, line or port-in requirements, trade-in condition rules, credit duration, taxes, and fees.
- At checkout, confirm the actual seller, final phone price, activation requirement, and promotion end date. Search results can retain expired offer language; do not rely on an old headline.
When to buy a newer Galaxy instead
Compare the S24 against a same-size, same-storage S25 or S26 before accepting a modest discount. A newer model may offer a longer remaining update period, which matters more if you plan to keep the phone for years. Do not assume a precise S24 end-of-support date without a current Samsung support-policy source. If the S24 Ultra is close in price to a newer Ultra, favor the newer model unless the older phone’s specific features or substantially lower price make it the better fit. Buyers prioritizing price over flagship camera hardware can also compare the S24 FE.
