It is less attractive for high-traffic websites, serious ecommerce, large media libraries, managed WordPress projects, or anyone comparing only the introductory price.
The key value question is what you will pay after the promotion ends. Bravenet’s published introductory plans start at $4.99 per month, while its regular price list starts at $10.99 per month. Check the renewal price and add-ons before buying.

At the listed regular monthly rates, annualized costs are approximately $131.88 for Basic, $203.88 for Advanced, $275.88 for Corporate, and $443.88 for VIP. These are simple 12-month calculations, not necessarily the exact total for every billing term.
The displayed introductory-to-regular increase is roughly 120% to 131%. A $4.99 starting price therefore should not be treated as the long-term cost.

Are Bravenet’s resources sufficient?
The plan limits are adequate for a lightweight brochure site, personal website, modest blog, portfolio, club, or community project. They are less suitable for video, large image collections, downloads, substantial backups, or several large applications.

Basic’s 500 MB storage allocation is the most important limitation. High-resolution images, WordPress uploads, mailboxes, logs, and backups can consume it quickly. One MySQL database may also be restrictive if you need separate production, staging, forum, or other applications.
SiteBlocks versus FTP hosting
Choose SiteBlocks if you want visual editing and do not want to manage files, databases, or application installation. Bravenet says free SiteBlocks accounts can build and edit a site, but upgrading is required to publish it live.
Choose traditional hosting if you need FTP, PHP, MySQL, or the flexibility to upload files and install standard applications. Bravenet advertises one-click installation for WordPress, Joomla, and phpBB.
Do not assume that SiteBlocks sites can be exported as portable files or moved easily to another provider. Confirm export, redirects, SEO controls, code access, and migration options before committing. Traditional FTP hosting is generally the more portable route, although application-specific migration can still require work.
Features, WordPress, and ecommerce
Domains and email
Paid hosting plans include domain email. The regular price list shows three Basic mailboxes at 500 MB each, 10 Advanced mailboxes at 1 GB each, and 20 or 30 mailboxes on Corporate and VIP plans at 2 GB each. Bravenet also lists email-only plans starting at $6 per month.
Email-only hosting may suit a domain that does not need a website, but compare it with dedicated business-email services if deliverability, collaboration, administration, or mailbox capacity is important.

Bravenet supports the technical requirements for WordPress and advertises one-click installation. That does not establish that it is managed WordPress hosting. The available evidence does not confirm the level of automatic updates, staging, caching, specialist support, migration assistance, or optimization offered by WordPress-focused providers.

SSL and security
Bravenet promotes SSL certificates, but its pricing material says premium SSL certificates are not included in the listed plans. Confirm exactly which certificate, HTTPS setup, renewal, and support are included at checkout.
Ecommerce
Bravenet advertises ecommerce, but that alone is not evidence of a full-featured store platform. Before using it for a serious store, verify payment gateways, taxes, shipping, inventory, abandoned-cart recovery, integrations, and transaction fees.
Backups, support, and reliability
Backups require particular caution. Bravenet’s services price list shows a hosting backup plan at $3.99 per month and emergency backup access at $199 for seven days. Its introductory pricing page shows different figures—starting at $1.99 per month and $150 for emergency access—and says backup functionality is unavailable for SiteBlocks sites because Bravenet handles those backups.
