The displayed discounts were 69%, 75%, and 69%, respectively.
The 77% figure comes from NordVPN’s historical 2025 Black Friday promotion, where it applied to Prime. Buy now if you need a VPN before November; wait if you can hold off until Black Friday on November 27, 2026 and specifically want to chase a potentially lower price.

What does “up to 77% off” mean?
“Up to 77%” does not mean every NordVPN plan is 77% off. In the historical 2025 Black Friday/Cyber Monday promotion, the maximum discount applied to the Prime tier. NordVPN listed these first-term figures for a two-year plan with three extra months:

The 2025 plan lineup and prices differ from the current 2026 lineup. The old Prime price is useful historical context, but it is not evidence that the same offer is live now or will return on November 27, 2026. Savings percentages may also be calculated against an annual renewal reference price and may include the value of bonus months. Compare the upfront charge and total service period—not just the headline percentage.

Which NordVPN plan is the best value?
Basic: best for core VPN use
Choose Basic if your main goal is encrypting your connection on public Wi-Fi, at home, or while traveling. The current plan comparison lists core VPN service, scam and phishing protection, ad and tracker blocking, Dark Web Monitor, and support for up to 10 simultaneous devices. Do not pay for a higher tier merely because it has a larger headline discount.
Complete: best for a broader security bundle
Complete is the strongest general-purpose choice if you will actually use its additional password-management, encrypted-cloud-storage, and monitoring features. At the checked price, it costs more upfront than Basic but less than Prime. Its 75% displayed saving is not by itself the reason to choose it; the bundled features are.
Prime: best only for specific identity-protection needs
Prime adds broader identity-related features, which may include email, phone, credit-card, and national-ID monitoring, identity-theft insurance, cyber-extortion insurance, and scam-call protection. Coverage, eligibility, limits, exclusions, and geography can vary under separate terms. Prime is a poor value for someone who only wants a VPN.

Should you buy NordVPN now or wait for Black Friday?
Buy now if:
- You need VPN protection before November 27.

NordVPN subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel. After the introductory period, NordVPN says it charges the then-applicable renewal price, which may be higher and may change. The prices shown when checked on August 18, 2026 were $139.08 per year for Basic, $219.48 for Complete, and $296.28 for Prime. These are current displayed signals, not guaranteed future prices.
For subscriptions longer than one month, NordVPN says it sends a notification email before processing the renewal charge. Save your receipt, record the renewal date, and decide whether to disable auto-renewal. If you cancel auto-renewal through your Nord Account, access continues through the paid subscription period.

Refund policy: not a free trial
NordVPN advertises a 30-day money-back guarantee for new subscriptions. This is a paid subscription with a refund option, not necessarily a no-card free trial. Refund requests are handled through customer support and generally must be made within 30 days of the initial purchase. The standard guarantee generally does not apply after renewal. Review the current NordVPN money-back policy, including any local-law exceptions.
How to claim the offer safely
- Open the official NordVPN pricing page.
- Select the plan and subscription length you actually want.
- At checkout, verify the currency, tax, total upfront charge, bonus months, and renewal price.
- Remove or price-check add-ons such as a dedicated IP.
- Complete payment and save the confirmation email.
- Set a reminder before the 30-day refund deadline if you are evaluating the service.
- Record the renewal date and cancel auto-renewal if you do not want a future charge.

What a VPN can—and cannot—do

It does not make you completely anonymous or protect against every online threat. Alternatives to consider
If NordVPN’s prepaid commitment or bundled tiers do not fit, compare products such as Proton VPN, Surfshark, and ExpressVPN.
