The $23 Apple deal was an iPhone 16 case—not an iPhone. Best Buy’s holiday doorbusters, published on December 21, 2024, started at $22.99 for an iPhone 16 Silicone Case with MagSafe. The promotion also included AirTags, iPads, Apple Watch Ultra 2 models, and MacBooks.
Important: This is a historical deal roundup, not a live August 2026 sale. The old prices should not be treated as available unless Best Buy independently shows them at checkout.
What the “from $23” Apple deal actually meant
The original headline rounded $22.99 to $23. That price applied to an iPhone 16 Silicone Case with MagSafe, not to an iPhone or another major Apple device. “From” referred only to the least-expensive item in a collection of Best Buy doorbusters; other products cost from $24.99 to more than $1,400.

The original coverage described savings of up to 30%, but that promotional claim did not mean every item was 30% off. The deal article was published December 21, 2024, and holiday inventory, prices, shipping deadlines, and membership conditions could have changed even during the promotion.

Which deals were most worthwhile?
Best gift under $30: the case or a single AirTag
The $22.99 case was the cheapest item, but it is useful only to someone with an iPhone 16. Confirm the phone model before buying; it is not a universal iPhone case.
The $24.99 single AirTag was the least expensive standalone Apple-branded product in the list. It can suit someone who uses Apple devices and wants to track keys, luggage, a wallet, or another item. Android-only recipients are a poor fit.

Best value when you need multiple trackers: the AirTag four-pack
At $69.99, the four-pack had the larger stated dollar saving and a lower per-unit price than buying four single packs at $24.99 each. It was not automatically the better purchase, however: buying four trackers is wasteful if the recipient needs only one. The original coverage did not establish that this was the lowest market price available.
Cheapest iPad: the 9th-generation model
The 64GB Wi-Fi 9th-generation iPad was the lowest-priced tablet at $199.99. Its $120 stated saving made it attractive for basic browsing, streaming, reading, and light productivity, but the low price also reflected older hardware and design.
The 10th-generation 64GB Wi-Fi iPad cost $79.01 more at the listed Best Buy price and offered a newer entry-level design. The cited deal information is not enough to declare one the best choice for every buyer, so compare the recipient’s needs, expected ownership period, and storage requirements.

Best balance of price and capability: the M2 iPad Air
The 11-inch, 128GB Wi-Fi M2 iPad Air at $499 was the most balanced tablet option in this list for buyers who wanted a stronger performance tier without paying iPad Pro prices. That is an editorial assessment based on its product tier and price, not a hands-on performance test.
The M4 iPad Pro models were premium choices. The 11-inch version was listed at $849 with My Best Buy Plus, while the 13-inch version was $1,099. Their higher prices make sense only when the recipient benefits from a premium tablet rather than simply needing an inexpensive iPad.
Best low-cost Mac: the M2 MacBook Air
The M2 13-inch MacBook Air was the cheapest MacBook listed at $799, configured with 16GB of memory and 256GB of storage. The M3 13-inch model cost $100 more at $899, giving buyers a straightforward choice between the lower purchase price and a newer chip generation.

The 15-inch M3 Air cost $1,299 because of its larger display and should not be described simply as a faster 13-inch model. The M4 MacBook Pro at $1,424.99 was aimed at buyers needing a higher-end laptop, not people whose needs are limited to email, web browsing, streaming, and office applications.
Apple Watch Ultra 2: check the exact style
The Apple Watch Ultra 2 was listed at $719 for selected styles, an $80 saving. That price may not have applied to every finish, band, or configuration. The cited coverage does not establish cellular capability, band size, or stock for each style.

Membership warning: calculate the real saving
At least the listed 11-inch M4 iPad Pro and 14-inch M4 MacBook Pro prices required My Best Buy Plus. The original deal coverage does not establish whether the membership fee was included in the advertised savings calculation.
Before joining, compare the membership cost with the actual discount and consider whether you value other benefits. A membership is not automatically worthwhile for a one-time purchase, particularly if the price has expired or the item is unavailable.
