AVEVA has no single 2025 price. It sells a portfolio of HMI/SCADA, historian, engineering, MES, operations-management and cloud products. Your cost depends on the product, tag and client counts, sites, deployment model, support, implementation and contract term. AVEVA publishes selected InTouch HMI MSRP figures, but most plant-wide deployments require a distributor or enterprise quote.
The public InTouch page lists U.S. MSRP of $1,850 for InTouch Workstation, $12,360 for InTouch Unlimited Standard and $20,600 for InTouch Unlimited Professional. AVEVA labels these amounts in U.S. dollars, excluding taxes, and directs buyers to a local distributor. The page does not, by itself, establish whether each amount is annual, perpetual or tied to another entitlement period, so confirm the term in writing.

AVEVA’s InTouch pricing page identifies these as U.S. MSRP, excludes applicable taxes and states FOB Lake Forest, California. Regional distributor pricing can differ because of currency, tax, support, configuration and commercial terms.
What is AVEVA?
AVEVA is an industrial-software vendor, not one application. Its portfolio includes:

- Manufacturing execution and production management.
- Operations management, cloud services and industrial intelligence.
AVEVA Engineering, for example, is positioned within AVEVA Unified Engineering and its cloud-based engineering and design offering. Therefore, an “AVEVA price” is meaningful only after you identify the workload and product family.
How AVEVA licensing works in 2025
Pricing generally falls into four categories:
- Public product pricing: selected packages such as InTouch have published U.S. MSRP.
- Quote-based products: engineering, MES, historians, System Platform and broader operations deployments commonly require a configured quote. TrustRadius currently shows no listed plans or trial for AVEVA Engineering; that is a marketplace observation, not a universal AVEVA policy.
- Portfolio subscriptions: AVEVA Flex can combine cloud, hybrid and on-premises products under centralized license management.
- Distributor or project pricing: the quote may include runtime and development nodes, redundancy, clients, support, implementation, training and integration.
AVEVA announced in March 2023 that new licenses for major engineering and operations solutions were subscription-only and set a target of moving 80% of customer licenses from perpetual to subscription by 2025. That is a corporate transition direction and target—not proof that every product, legacy entitlement or customer contract had identical terms in 2025.
AVEVA Flex tiers
Flex, Flex Enterprise and Flex Enterprise Plus are designed for different levels of portfolio use and service. The official page says Flex can span cloud, hybrid and on-premises software, and lets customers activate or deactivate licenses as needs change. Enterprise and Enterprise Plus pricing is available for contracts of three years or more. Enterprise Plus adds services such as quarterly business reviews, digital-acceleration consulting and an executive sponsor.

AVEVA says Flex can reduce first-year capital expenditure by as much as 65%. Treat that as AVEVA’s marketing claim, not an independently verified saving. Compare the full three- and five-year cost, including support, upgrades, services, unused entitlements and exit terms.
What is included—and what may cost extra?
A public license price is not a plant project budget. A quotation may need to address:
- Development seats, runtime servers, web clients and remote sessions.
- Redundancy, disaster recovery and secondary sites.
- Historian tags, data volume and retention.
- PLC, instrument and third-party driver integration.
- Industrial PCs, servers, virtualization, networking and cybersecurity.
- Graphics, scripts, reports, dashboards and data migration.
- Commissioning, validation, documentation and operator training.
- Customer FIRST support or other maintenance and service levels.
Ask for a separate line-item schedule so software, integrator labor, hardware and ongoing support are not blended into one unexplained number.

AVEVA reviews: useful signals, not one universal score
Reviews vary by product and often by date. G2’s AVEVA seller profile currently shows 4.4/5 from 138 reviews across 24 product profiles and categories. That aggregate combines different products and user groups, so it is not an InTouch, System Platform or Engineering score.

What users tend to like
- Broad functionality across engineering, operations, data and manufacturing.
- Coordination of engineering data and collaboration across locations.
- Flexibility for complex industrial environments and multi-site standards.
- A mature ecosystem of partners and skills, especially for existing Wonderware users.
- Integration potential across a larger AVEVA estate.
What buyers criticize or should investigate
- Steep learning curves and the need for trained engineers or specialist integrators.
- Many products, editions and legacy names, making entitlements difficult to compare.
- Quote-based purchasing and potentially significant recurring subscription costs.
- Migration complexity for older Wonderware/AVEVA applications.
- Separate charges for redundancy, historians, clients, services and support.
These are review themes and buying risks, not proof that every deployment will have the same experience. A proof of concept and reference calls with organizations of similar size are more reliable than a rating average.

AVEVA is more compelling when
- You already operate Wonderware or AVEVA systems and migration would be expensive.
- You need coordinated engineering, operations, historian, MES or design capabilities.
- You are standardizing multiple plants and can use the broader portfolio.
- You value industrial partners, vendor support and established templates.
Be cautious when
- You need only a small machine HMI.
- You require self-service, publicly posted pricing.
- Your system will remain small and unchanged for many years.
- Your team has little AVEVA experience and no integrator budget.
- You need a fast, low-friction trial before a major commitment.
AVEVA versus Ignition, Siemens WinCC and FactoryTalk
Ignition is the clearest transparency alternative. Inductive Automation publicly lists an Ignition Platform at $1,200, Application Building Suite at $13,500, Industrial Historian at $3,500, Alarm Management at $3,200, DataOps at $5,500 and Enterprise Integration at $4,100. It advertises unlimited tags, users and devices for its standard platform and offers a fully functional trial. Support is listed at 20% annually for StandardCare and 24% for PriorityCare; without upgrade protection, a major upgrade can cost up to 65% of current retail price. Compare the complete architecture, modules, redundancy, support, implementation and migration—not just the headline license.
Ignition may suit buyers prioritizing transparent pricing, modular deployment and web/mobile applications. It may be a poor economic choice where rebuilding AVEVA graphics, scripts, historians, interfaces, procedures and integrations would outweigh licensing differences.
Siemens WinCC is a logical option for sites standardized on Siemens PLCs, TIA Portal and Siemens hardware. Rockwell FactoryTalk is similarly relevant to Allen-Bradley, PlantPAx and Rockwell estates. Both are product-, capacity- and region-specific; obtain comparable quotes rather than assuming either is universally cheaper.
Questions to put in the quote request
- Is each item perpetual, annual subscription or part of a multi-year commitment?
- What happens when the subscription ends?
- How are tags, users, clients, nodes, sites and concurrent sessions counted?
- Are development, runtime, web, historian, reports, drivers and redundancy included?
- Are upgrades and support included, and at what service level?
- Can licenses move between sites, test environments and disaster-recovery systems?
- What is the cost of a second server or redundant pair?
- What migration options exist for existing Wonderware or perpetual licenses?
- Are implementation, validation, training and documentation included?
- What are the three-year and five-year total costs, including renewal increases?
- Which features or services disappear if you move from Flex Enterprise Plus to a lower tier?
Bottom line
AVEVA can be a strong fit for complex industrial organizations and existing AVEVA estates, but it is not a simple, low-cost, self-service purchase. Use the public InTouch MSRP figures as benchmarks, then obtain a product-specific quote and compare three- and five-year ownership costs—including implementation, support, migration and exit terms—with transparent alternatives such as Ignition.
