AT&T’s Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 preorder promotion was real, but it was not an instant $1,100 discount—and the original preorder window ended July 24, 2025. Eligible customers received up to $1,100 in bill credits over 36 months after trading in a qualifying Samsung Galaxy S, Note, or Z-series phone and buying the new device on an eligible AT&T installment plan.
AT&T still advertises changing Galaxy trade-in offers, but those should not be confused with the 2025 launch promotion. Check the current AT&T trade-in page for live pricing and eligibility.
The short version
- The promotion applied to both the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7.
- The maximum discount was up to $1,100 in monthly bill credits, not cash at checkout.
- Credits were spread over 36 months—about $30.56 per month at the maximum.
- Customers needed an eligible Samsung Galaxy S, Note, or Z-series trade-in worth at least $35 under AT&T’s rules.
- The offer was available to new and existing AT&T customers with an eligible installment plan and service.
- Taxes on the full phone price and a $35 activation or upgrade fee still applied.

The headline amount represented the maximum total of promotional bill credits. It was not an immediate reduction in the phone’s purchase price.

For example:
- Maximum total credits: $1,100
- Credit period: 36 months
- Approximate monthly credit: $30.56
The phone was purchased on a qualifying 0% APR, 36-month installment plan. The installment charge appeared on the AT&T bill, with promotional credits offsetting part of it. The launch terms listed monthly device payments of up to $58.89, depending on the device and account.
AT&T says promotional credits can take two to three billing cycles to appear. Until then, the bill may not reflect the full expected discount.
Which phones qualified for the trade-in?
The launch promotion specifically covered eligible Samsung:

AT&T said devices from any model year and in any physical condition could qualify, subject to its eligibility rules and a minimum trade-in value of $35.

That wording is important. “Any condition” did not mean every phone from every manufacturer qualified. An old or damaged Samsung Galaxy could potentially qualify, but an iPhone, Motorola, Google Pixel, or other non-Samsung phone was not automatically eligible for the full promotion.
Before sending a device, use AT&T’s trade-in site to check its specific eligibility and estimated value. AT&T’s guidance says the trade-in should generally be shipped within 30 days of activating the new phone. Disable activation locks, such as Apple Find My or Google’s device protection, before sending it.
Fold7 versus Flip7: what did the discount really cover?
The maximum credit applied to either phone, but its practical value differed because the devices had different prices.

The Fold7 price is listed on Samsung’s U.S. product page. A Flip7 receiving the full credit was not literally free: taxes, fees, wireless service, installment obligations, and the timing of credits still mattered.

What customers still paid
Even with the maximum promotion, buyers could owe:
- Sales tax calculated on the phone’s full retail price
- A $35 activation or upgrade fee per line
- Monthly wireless-service charges
- Installment charges before bill credits were applied
- Taxes and fees on additional devices
- A down payment, depending on account and credit qualification
AT&T said $0 down could be available to well-qualified customers, but it was not guaranteed for every account. The deal therefore reduced the device cost; it did not eliminate the total cost of ownership.
What wireless plan was required?
AT&T said the promotion worked with its Unlimited Your Way portfolio and did not require its most expensive unlimited plan. Existing Unlimited Your Way customers could qualify without changing plans, subject to the applicable terms.
Contemporaneous coverage reported that an eligible postpaid unlimited voice-and-data plan could start at $75.99 per month, but plan pricing and eligibility change. Do not treat that figure as a universal 2026 requirement. Confirm the current terms on AT&T’s wireless shopping page.
The financial comparison should include the plan you actually need, not just the phone credit. Switching carriers solely to obtain a device subsidy can be a poor deal if the required service costs more than your existing plan.

Preorder accessory bundle
AT&T also advertised limited-time pricing for customers buying a Fold7 or Flip7:
- Galaxy Watch8 for $0.99 per month
- Galaxy Tab A9+ 5G for $0.99 per month
These were monthly charges, not free accessories. Over 36 months, each would cost $35.64 before taxes and other charges. Buying both would total $71.28 before taxes and other charges.

The promotion was tied to the installment agreement and eligible AT&T service. Leaving AT&T, paying off the phone early, or otherwise changing the account could stop future promotional credits. Any remaining unpaid device balance could then become due.

The exact consequences depend on the applicable installment and promotion terms. Before canceling service, upgrading, or paying off the device, review those terms and ask AT&T whether the remaining credits will continue. Do not assume that paying off the phone preserves the entire three-year discount.

AT&T versus buying directly from Samsung
AT&T’s value came from long-term carrier credits and broad eligibility for qualifying Samsung Galaxy trade-ins. Samsung’s direct purchase could offer more flexibility, different trade-in values, storage promotions, or an unlocked-device path.
Compare these items rather than relying on the largest headline discount:
- Final device price after trade-in
- Required wireless-plan cost
- Financing duration and early-payoff rules
- Taxes and activation fees
- Whether the phone is locked
- What happens if you change carriers
- Trade-in value through Samsung, AT&T, or a private sale
Samsung’s page listed the Fold7 256GB at $1,999.99 when checked on August 18, 2026, while some configurations were shown as out of stock. Inventory and direct-purchase promotions can change.

Is the offer still available?
The original 2025 preorder offer is not available as a preorder promotion. Its deadline was July 24, 2025.
As of August 18, 2026, AT&T’s current trade-in page displayed the Fold7 at as low as $25 per month, down from $55.56 per month, with eligible trade-in and 36 monthly credits. That is a current offer signal, not proof that the original 2025 terms remain active. Pricing, inventory, plan requirements, and trade-in eligibility should be checked immediately before purchase.

Bottom line
The AT&T launch deal was genuinely aggressive for eligible Samsung owners, especially buyers considering the Galaxy Z Flip7. But “up to $1,100 off” meant 36 months of bill credits—not an instant rebate or a free phone. The promotion also required a qualifying Samsung trade-in, an eligible installment plan, AT&T service, taxes, and fees. It made the most sense for customers prepared to stay with AT&T for the full credit period.
