Stop using and charging the speaker until you check it. Anker recalled three specific Soundcore and AnkerWork speaker identifiers after reports of battery overheating, smoking and small fires. The U.S. recall covers about 69,000 units; another 9,764 were sold in Canada, making the combined total 78,764—not 79,000 U.S. units alone. Eligibility depends on the device’s serial number, so a matching model number is a reason to check, not proof that your unit is included.
Which speakers are included?
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall on December 5, 2024, under recall number 25-056. It covers the following specific identifiers—not every Anker or Soundcore speaker:

The model and serial information are on the underside. The affected speakers were sold exclusively through Amazon.com in the United States from March through October 2023 for about $28 to $130. Anker and Amazon contacted known purchasers, but do not rely only on an old email or Amazon notification: check the device directly. A used purchase or an Amazon order record does not by itself determine eligibility.
Why were they recalled?
The concern is that specific lithium-ion battery packs or cells can overheat and create a fire hazard. CPSC says Anker received 33 reports involving overheating, smoking and small fires; one report involved a minor burn injury in the United States. That does not mean every recalled speaker will catch fire, but a unit that still works can still be affected.

Anker’s Soundcore page attributes the A3102 issue to manufacturing conditions affecting a small number of speakers made in March and April 2023. The U.K. product-safety notice identifies batch 22D51 for its affected A3102 products. Separately, Australia’s product-safety regulator describes a possible battery short circuit and records a fire involving burn injuries and property damage. Those are details from separate national recall records, not additional U.S. incident statistics.

How to check your speaker’s serial number
Soundcore A3102
- Turn the speaker over and confirm the model is A3102.
- Find the 16-digit serial number on the underside.
- Enter it in the checker on Soundcore’s A3102 recall page and follow the result and instructions.
Soundcore warns that some characters can be easy to confuse, including 1, L, I, 2 and Z; its guidance says O and I are not used in the relevant serial number. Check the printed label carefully rather than guessing. Not every A3102 is automatically recalled: serial verification determines whether the unit has an affected battery cell.

AnkerWork PowerConf S3, A3302
Check the underside for the SN Code or serial number, then use the dedicated AnkerWork A3302 recall page. The CPSC notice directs A3302 owners to that checker.

If the label is damaged or the checker does not work
Do not decide from appearance alone. Contact Anker support with the Amazon order record if available, clear photos of the speaker and its label, the model number, and any readable serial-number characters. The CPSC notice lists Anker’s U.S. phone number as 800-988-7973, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Pacific Time; it also provides Soundcore and AnkerWork support channels. You can also use Anker’s support contact page. If you bought the speaker outside the United States, consult the recall and remedy process for your country; local eligibility and instructions may differ.
What to do now
- Stop using the speaker.
- Turn it off and disconnect it from its charger, adapter or other external power.
- Check the serial number using the appropriate official recall page.
- If it is included, follow Anker’s replacement and handling directions. Do not ship or transport it unless Anker tells you how to do so.
Do not keep using a potentially affected speaker while waiting for a response or replacement. The issue is a possible future battery failure, not only a problem in devices already showing symptoms.

How to get the replacement
The CPSC lists replacement as the remedy. Anker says it will provide instructions for a free replacement after it verifies the serial number and customer information. Use the official Soundcore process for A3102 or AnkerWork process for A3302, and retain your order confirmation and any case or verification details.

Dispose of it only through an appropriate local channel
Do not put a recalled speaker in household trash, ordinary recycling or a standard retail battery-collection box. Recalled lithium-ion devices need handling under local or state procedures for damaged, defective or recalled batteries. Contact your municipality, household hazardous-waste program, fire department or local recycling authority for instructions, and follow Anker’s directions before transporting or surrendering the speaker.
Do not dismantle the speaker, puncture or crush it, or attempt a DIY battery replacement. Soundcore also directs U.S. consumers to consult their municipality or fire department about an accepting facility.
If the speaker is hot, swollen, smoking or burning
This is different from routine recall handling. Keep people and pets away, and do not continue charging or handle the device unnecessarily. If there is an active fire or immediate danger, call emergency services and follow responders’ instructions. Do not put a smoking or burning lithium-ion device in water, a refrigerator or an enclosed container.

Contact Anker and explain what happened. Keep your Amazon order record and any photos, model details or serial-number information you still have. Ask Anker whether it can verify the product and what steps, if any, remain. The published recall information does not guarantee replacement eligibility after disposal, so do not assume either that a claim is impossible or that it will be approved.
Does this recall cover other Anker products?
This notice is for the three speaker identifiers listed above. It is separate from other Anker product recalls, including power-bank recalls. Do not use a different product’s recall result to decide whether one of these speakers is affected, and do not infer that a marketplace listing or product photo proves a device is safe.
