Deal status: This was a historical Amazon U.S. promotion from November 2024, not a currently verified September 2026 offer. Tom’s Guide reported the 65-inch LG OLED evo C4 (model OLED65C4PUA) at $1,496, or $1,200 below LG’s displayed $2,699 reference price. TechRadar later reported the same model at $1,394. Check the live Amazon listing before relying on any price, seller, condition, warranty, or return information.
What the Amazon deal actually was
The deal covered LG’s 65-inch C4 OLED evo television, model OLED65C4PUA, sold through Amazon U.S. during the early Black Friday period in November 2024. Tom’s Guide reported a price of $1,496 and described it as $1,200 off a $2,699 reference price.
That headline was accurate for the price observed, but it was not the best documented price for the promotion. Tom’s Guide said the TV had previously reached $1,396 on Black Friday, and TechRadar later reported a $1,394 price and a $1,300 reduction.

Was it really an early Black Friday deal?
Yes. The timing and retail coverage were consistent with early Black Friday promotions in November 2024. LG separately announced early Black Friday offers on November 7, 2024, but that announcement highlighted a 65-inch B4 and a 77-inch C4—not this exact 65-inch C4 Amazon offer. The LG promotion therefore provides seasonal context, not confirmation of Amazon’s price or terms.
Why the LG C4 was attractive
OLED pixels illuminate themselves, allowing the TV to turn individual pixels off for very deep blacks and strong contrast. That makes the C4 particularly appealing for films, prestige television, and dark-room viewing.
LG lists more than 8.3 million self-lit pixels, an Alpha 9 AI Processor Gen7, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, Filmmaker Mode, webOS, LG Channels, and up to five years of software updates through its webOS Re:New program. The TV also supports NVIDIA G-Sync, AMD FreeSync Premium, and a stated 0.1ms response time. The response-time number is an LG-listed specification, not an independent universal measurement.

The “120Hz” and “144Hz” descriptions are not necessarily contradictory: the TV is generally marketed as a 120Hz native display class, while 144Hz refers to compatible PC input capability. Actual output depends on the computer, graphics card, cable, resolution, and game.
Tom’s Guide reported accurate color, strong picture quality, improved brightness over the C3, and measured 9.2ms latency in Game Optimizer Boost mode. That test result applies to the tested configuration and mode, not every setup.
Why shoppers should hesitate
- It is an older model. The C4 is a 2024-generation TV, and LG now identifies a newer model on its product page. A previous-generation OLED can still be excellent, but its price should reflect the shorter product cycle.
- Built-in audio is ordinary. Tom’s Guide characterized the speakers as average. Budget for a soundbar if room-filling or cinematic sound matters.
- No ATSC 3.0 tuner. Antenna users seeking over-the-air 4K broadcasts may need an external tuner or a different television.
- OLED requires sensible usage. Prolonged, repetitive static elements—such as desktop taskbars, news tickers, or persistent game HUDs—can create image-retention or burn-in concerns over time. That is a general OLED ownership consideration, not evidence of a defect in a particular deal unit.
- The full reference price was hard to justify. The C4’s value came primarily from its substantial discount, not from being a compelling $2,699 purchase.
What price would make the C4 worthwhile?

Checks to make before ordering
- Confirm the model: Make sure the listing says OLED65C4PUA, not a different size, series, or refurbished variant.
- Inspect condition: Confirm that the unit is new rather than renewed, used, open-box, or damaged packaging.
- Check the seller and fulfillment: Amazon product pages can contain multiple sellers. Review “Sold by” and “Ships from” immediately before checkout.
- Read warranty terms: Verify that the manufacturer warranty applies to the seller and unit. Imported or unauthorized inventory may have different coverage.
- Review delivery and returns: Large TVs can arrive damaged. Check room-of-choice delivery, packaging inspection, the deadline for reporting damage, return shipping responsibility, and restocking terms.
- Separate real savings from extras: Do not count credit-card rewards, coupons, trade-in credits, protection plans, or installation offers unless the terms clearly apply to you.
- Do not assume installation is included: LG’s official promotion mentioned free wall mounting for specific LG.com offers; that does not establish that Amazon’s deal included installation.
Alternatives worth comparing
Newer LG C-series OLED
LG’s own C4 page directs shoppers toward a newer C-series model. It offers a better product-cycle position and potentially newer processing, but the premium is worthwhile only if it is reasonable relative to the C4’s discounted price.

The B-series is generally positioned below the C-series in brightness and performance and can cost less. LG’s 2024 early Black Friday announcement listed a 65-inch B4 at $1,199, not a 65-inch C4.
Samsung S90-series OLED
TechRadar reported a 65-inch Samsung S90C at $1,299.99 during the same 2024 sale period. It was a direct alternative for shoppers comparing OLED picture characteristics, gaming features, and price, though that historical price is not a current offer.

Sony Bravia OLED
TechRadar reported a 65-inch Sony Bravia 8 at $1,699.99 during that sale period. It may suit viewers who prioritize Sony’s processing and cinematic presentation, but the cited price was substantially higher and is historical.
Mini-LED or QLED
For a very bright room, heavy daytime viewing, or extensive static desktop use, a Mini-LED or QLED TV may be a more comfortable ownership choice. It can offer higher sustained brightness and avoid OLED-specific retention concerns, although black levels and viewing angles may differ.

Bottom line
The Amazon LG C4 deal was legitimate historical coverage, but the $1,496 price was not the lowest documented price: the TV later reached $1,394 in 2024 and was listed at an expired $1,179.99 in 2025. If a live listing appears near $1,400, the C4 remains a strong choice for movies and gaming. At a higher price, compare it with newer LG models and verify the seller, condition, warranty, delivery, and returns before paying.
