These were historical Black Friday 2025 prices, not a live August 2026 sale. The best reported value for many 4K shoppers was the Fire TV Stick 4K Plus at $24.99, while the cheapest 4K option was the Fire TV Stick 4K Select at $19.99. That $5 difference mattered because the Select used less memory, slower Wi-Fi, and Amazon’s newer Vega OS platform.
Amazon’s 2025 Black Friday Week ran from November 20 through December 1, and the original deal report was published November 27, 2025. The discounts reached “up to 50% off,” but the exact price depended on the model, generation, remote bundle, and date.

The strongest deal was not automatically the product with the biggest advertised percentage. A 4K model costing only $5 more than another may offer more useful hardware, storage, or app compatibility.

These figures come from the November 27, 2025 report by HotHardware. A separate November 28 snapshot from Cord Cutters News listed the HD model at $17.99, a Fire TV Stick 4K at $24.99, and the 4K Max at $39.99. Those listings may reflect different generations, bundles, sellers, or price changes during the same promotion, so they should not be merged into one universal price.
Which Fire TV Stick was the best buy?
Best overall 4K value: Fire TV Stick 4K Plus
At the reported $24.99 price, the 2025 Fire TV Stick 4K Plus was arguably the strongest mainstream deal. It included 4K Ultra HD output, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, Dolby Atmos, Wi-Fi 6, 2GB of RAM, and 8GB of storage. Amazon’s official specifications identify it as a 2025 Fire OS 8 device.
The Plus cost only $5 more than the Select during the reported sale. For many households, that modest difference justified choosing the better-connected, higher-memory Fire OS model rather than buying solely on the “50% off” label.
Supported features still require compatible content, a compatible television, and suitable audio equipment. Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos are capabilities, not guarantees that every show or setup will use them.
Cheapest 4K option: Fire TV Stick 4K Select
The 4K Select was reported at $19.99, making it the lowest-priced route to 4K streaming. However, it is not simply a cheaper 4K Plus.

Amazon announced the Select as its first Fire TV Stick running Vega OS. That platform difference may matter to people who depend on a specific app, older Fire TV workflow, or sideloading. App availability and software support can change, so verify the services you need before purchase using Amazon’s Vega OS announcement and current product information.
Best for an HD television: Fire TV Stick HD
The HD stick was reported at $17.99, down from a $34.99 reference price. It is appropriate for a 1080p television and is the sensible budget choice when the screen cannot display 4K.
A 4K stick can work with an HD television, but it will not create genuine 4K detail on an HD panel. Paying more for 4K features therefore may not improve the picture. Amazon’s documentation now also lists a 2026 Fire TV Stick HD, so any current article or shopping link must distinguish that newer model from the 2025 deal listing.
Best for storage and performance: Fire TV Stick 4K Max
The second-generation 4K Max was reported at $34.99 with the standard remote and $48.99 with the Alexa Voice Remote Pro. Amazon lists this as a 2023 model with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, Wi-Fi 6E, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and the Fire TV Ambient Experience.
The Max is the better fit for large app libraries, heavier use, and cloud gaming, mainly because its 16GB storage is twice that of the Plus or Select. It remains older 2023 hardware, however, so a discounted 2025 Plus can be the better value if you do not need the extra storage or connectivity headroom.

Best remote: 4K Max with Alexa Voice Remote Pro
The Remote Pro adds backlit buttons, Remote Finder, and two customizable shortcut buttons. It is also slightly larger. Both standard and Pro remotes support Alexa voice commands.

This bundle improves convenience, not streaming speed. If your current remote is easy to lose or you watch in a dark room, the premium may be worthwhile. Otherwise, the standard remote preserves more of your budget for the streaming hardware itself.
Best for Ethernet and hands-free Alexa: Fire TV Cube
The Fire TV Cube was reported at $89.99. It is a box rather than a stick and adds an Ethernet port, hands-free Alexa, and the ability to control compatible external equipment.
Choose it when wired networking or smart-home and device-control features solve a real problem. For a basic television upgrade, the smaller and cheaper stick is usually more practical.
4K Select versus 4K Plus: the $5 decision
The word “4K” describes resolution, not overall capability. The reported $19.99 Select and $24.99 Plus differed in several meaningful ways:

The Select makes financial sense when the absolute lowest upfront cost is the priority and the required apps are confirmed to work on Vega OS. The Plus is the safer general-purpose purchase for readers who want more memory, newer wireless capability, and the established Fire OS environment.
Quick buying guide
- You have a 1080p TV: Choose the HD model unless you plan to move the device to a 4K television soon.
- You want the cheapest 4K device: Consider the 4K Select, but check app and platform compatibility first.
- You want the best balance: The 4K Plus was the strongest reported value at $24.99.
- You install many apps or use cloud gaming: Choose the 4K Max for 16GB of storage and 2GB of RAM.
- You want illuminated buttons and a finder: Select the Remote Pro bundle, if the convenience justifies the premium.
- You need wired networking or hands-free Alexa: Consider the Fire TV Cube.
Checks to make before ordering
TV and HDMI compatibility
Every Fire TV Stick requires a compatible HDMI input. A 4K model can connect to an HD television, but the television determines the displayed resolution. HDR formats also require a compatible TV and content.
Power supply
Do not assume a television’s USB port will reliably power a streaming stick. An underpowered port can cause restarts or instability. Wall power is safer, particularly for older televisions; check the package contents and ensure you have an available outlet.
Network limits
Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E can improve wireless connectivity in a suitable network, but they cannot fix a poor router location, weak signal, slow broadband plan, or high-latency connection. The Cube’s Ethernet port is the more relevant feature when a wired connection is necessary.

Storage is not expandable internal storage. The Max’s 16GB gives more room for apps and games than the 8GB models, but it does not make every game compatible or turn the device into a dedicated console.

Cloud gaming and live TV
The 2025 deal coverage reported Amazon Luna and Xbox Game Pass support for the 4K Max and 4K Plus, with Select support described as “coming soon.” It also reported live-view picture-in-picture support on the Max and Plus, but not the Select or HD. These are software-dependent features and may change; confirm current service, game, controller, and regional availability before relying on them.
Was “up to 50% off” a genuinely good deal?
It was accurate as a description of the reported 2025 promotion: the 4K Select and 4K Plus were listed at 50% off. But the percentage alone does not prove an all-time low or establish that every Fire TV Stick had the same discount.
Before buying any future promotion, compare:
- The sale price with the manufacturer’s stated reference price.
- Recent price history for the exact listing and bundle.
- The product’s model year and generation.
- Storage capacity and included remote.
- Whether a newer model has replaced it.
- Comparable devices from Roku, Google, or Walmart.
A tool such as Keepa can help track Amazon price history, but history may differ by seller, listing, region, fulfillment method, and bundle. Also confirm that a marketplace listing is sold by an authorized or clearly identified seller.

Alternatives worth considering
Fire TV is not automatically the best value for every household:
- Roku Streaming Stick 4K may suit readers who prefer a simpler, more platform-neutral interface and mainstream app support.
- Google TV Streamer is a larger box aimed at people invested in Google Home, Google Assistant, casting, and the Google TV interface.
- Walmart onn. devices can compete on upfront price, but compare current storage, performance, HDR, update policy, remote features, and app compatibility rather than price alone.
- Your television’s built-in software may be sufficient if it is recent, responsive, and supports every service you use.
No current 2026 competitor prices are included here because the cited research did not verify them.
What changed by 2026?
Amazon’s official device documentation, as of August 18, 2026, lists a 2026 Fire TV Stick HD alongside the 2025 4K Plus and 4K Select and the 2023 4K Max and 4K models. That means the 4K Max can still be sold as a newer-looking premium option even though its official release designation is 2023.
Do not present the 2025 Black Friday prices as current, and do not claim that the same discounts will return for Black Friday 2026 until Amazon announces them. For current model specifications, consult Amazon’s official Fire TV device documentation.
