Is an $899 M3 MacBook Air worth buying?

An Echo Pop is sensible for inexpensive Alexa access, timers and basic smart-home control. It is not a room-filling audio system, and its cloud-connected microphone and account requirements are a poor fit for privacy-sensitive buyers.
