Choose AI vocals when the song needs a sung message, a recognizable lead, or a vocal performance that carries the hook. Choose an instrumental when the music should sit under speech, support a scene without competing with it, or give you a clean starting point for later arrangement. If you are undecided, generate both versions from the same musical brief and compare them at the volume and in the setting where the song will actually be used.

Keep the intended mood, energy, duration, and use case constant when comparing formats. Ask for one vocal and one instrumental direction from the same brief, then compare whether the lyric communicates clearly, whether the melody works without a singer, and whether the arrangement leaves enough room for other audio.
