Labor Day 2026 fell on September 7, but monitor prices and availability can change before, during, and after the holiday. The five models below were identified from U.S. retailer and manufacturer deal pages, with pricing signals checked August 18, 2026. Recheck the exact product page before purchasing: a retailer’s “Labor Day Deal” label does not guarantee that the price, stock, or promotion is still active.
The best bargain is not necessarily the biggest percentage discount. Resolution, refresh rate, stand adjustment, ports, warranty, and the seller can matter more than an impressive “was” price.

1. Dell SE2426H: best ultra-cheap everyday monitor
Observed price: $79.99–$89.99 on Dell pages checked August 18, compared with a $99.99 estimated value.

The Dell SE2426H is the most sensible low-cost upgrade for schoolwork, office tasks, browsing, and a second-monitor setup. Its 23.8-inch 1920×1080 IPS panel is a good size for 1080p, while 144Hz should make scrolling and supported games feel smoother than a typical 60Hz screen.
It has two HDMI inputs, but its stand is tilt-only. Budget for a riser or monitor arm if you need proper eye-level positioning. Dell’s “estimated value” is not necessarily the monitor’s recent selling price, so treat the claimed savings as a reference rather than proof of a historic low.
Buy it if: you want the least expensive sensible upgrade and do not need QHD resolution, USB-C, or a height-adjustable stand.
Skip it if: you use a laptop that needs one-cable USB-C connectivity, want a sharper 27-inch desktop, or expect to play demanding games at high frame rates.

2. Dell SE2426HGS: best inexpensive high-refresh gaming monitor
Observed price: $119.99–$139.99 across Dell pages retrieved on different dates. The variation is a reminder to record the exact price and time at checkout.
The SE2426HGS pairs a 23.8-inch 1080p IPS panel with a 240Hz refresh rate. It also improves on the cheaper model’s ergonomics with height, swivel, and tilt adjustment. The listed connections include two HDMI inputs and DisplayPort 1.4.

This is the strongest candidate for competitive gaming on a limited budget, but only if your computer can produce high frame rates in the games you play. A 240Hz monitor does not make a low-frame-rate system run faster. For mixed gaming and productivity, a 27-inch QHD display at 144–180Hz may provide a better overall experience.

Skip it if: your system rarely exceeds 144 frames per second or you spend more time reading documents than gaming.

3. Dell S2725DSM: possible best-value QHD monitor
Observed price: $179.99 versus a $219.99 estimated value on one Dell deal-page crawl. Confirm the live price and full specification list before buying.
A 27-inch 2560×1440 screen is generally a better productivity fit than 27-inch 1080p. It gives text, spreadsheets, browser tabs, and creative applications more usable workspace and sharper detail than a basic 24-inch FHD panel.

The S2725DSM is therefore the most promising general-purpose upgrade in this group, but the retrieved evidence does not establish every specification needed for a final recommendation. Confirm refresh rate, panel type, stand adjustment, video inputs, USB-C support, warranty, and return terms on Dell’s product page.
Buy it if: you want a sharper 27-inch desktop and the live price remains close to $179.99.
Skip it if: you need USB-C charging, a built-in hub, or a gaming refresh rate that the product page does not confirm.

4. ASUS TUF Gaming 24-inch FHD IPS 180Hz: best midrange budget gaming candidate
Price status: Best Buy’s Labor Day results included an ASUS TUF Gaming 24-inch FHD IPS display with 180Hz, a manufacturer-listed 1ms response claim, FreeSync Premium, DisplayPort, and HDMI. The retrieved results did not reliably expose a current price.
At the right price, 180Hz is a useful middle ground: smoother than 144Hz without paying for 240Hz that many systems cannot exploit. FreeSync Premium and DisplayPort can also make it a practical gaming choice, provided the exact model supports the features you need over your chosen input.
Do not purchase from a generic search result alone. ASUS uses similar TUF branding across models with different stands, panels, ports, and features. Confirm the exact model number, seller, response-time measurement conditions, HDR capability, return policy, and whether the item is new rather than open-box.

Buy it if: the verified model and price offer a clear advantage over the Dell 144Hz and 240Hz alternatives.

Price status: Best Buy’s Labor Day listings included Samsung Odyssey G5 models, including a 32-inch QHD 180Hz Fast IPS version and a 27-inch QHD 180Hz OLED version. The retrieved results did not consistently expose live prices.
These models could be compelling for shoppers who want more resolution and screen area than a 24-inch FHD monitor. But the suffix is critical: a 32-inch Fast IPS display and a 27-inch OLED display have different contrast, response, burn-in considerations, ergonomics, and prices.
Do not call the OLED version a wallet-friendly deal without a substantial verified discount. OLED offers excellent contrast and fast response, but static taskbars and application windows create long-term image-retention concerns. Check Samsung’s warranty language, pixel-care features, refresh behavior, and Best Buy’s return terms.
Buy it if: the exact model, panel type, price, warranty, and return window match your priorities.

Skip it if: you want a simple office monitor, cannot accommodate OLED care, or the price is only modestly below comparable QHD LCD displays.

How to tell whether a Labor Day monitor deal is genuine
- Compare the actual price. Check the manufacturer’s normal price and competing listings. A reference price labeled “estimated value” may not be a recent selling price.
- Check conditions. Look for member pricing, coupons, bundles, rewards, financing requirements, open-box status, refurbished labeling, and marketplace sellers.
- Inspect availability. Record whether the monitor is sold and shipped by the retailer, available for pickup, or subject to a limited stock notice.
- Read the return and warranty terms. This matters especially for OLED, open-box, refurbished, and marketplace purchases.
- Recheck immediately before checkout. The Dell SE2426H appeared at different prices on retrieved pages, while Best Buy’s Labor Day category did not consistently expose product-level prices.
Specifications that matter more than the discount percentage
Resolution and screen size
1080p remains appropriate for inexpensive 24-inch displays. At 27 inches, 1440p is usually preferable for sharper text and more workspace. Choose 4K when high detail matters and your computer can drive it comfortably.
Refresh rate
Moving from 60Hz to 100–144Hz is noticeable for everyday smoothness as well as gaming. The jump to 180Hz or 240Hz is most valuable to competitive players with hardware capable of high frame rates. Do not trade away QHD resolution or a better stand merely to reach 240Hz.

Panel technology
IPS typically provides balanced color and wide viewing angles. VA panels often deliver stronger contrast but may show dark-level smearing. OLED provides exceptional contrast and response, but requires burn-in precautions and careful warranty review.
Adaptive sync
Confirm the monitor’s FreeSync, G-SYNC compatibility, or other variable-refresh support, plus the input through which it works. A laptop dock or adapter may limit the available resolution or refresh rate.
Stand and mounting
Tilt-only stands can turn a cheap monitor into an ergonomic compromise. Height, swivel, pivot, and VESA support may be worth more than a small refresh-rate upgrade. Check the VESA dimensions before buying an arm.
HDR and response time
HDR input support does not guarantee convincing HDR. Look for brightness, local dimming, OLED contrast, or a recognized DisplayHDR tier. Likewise, “1ms” and “0.03ms” claims use different conditions and technologies; they are not directly comparable.
Ports
Check HDMI and DisplayPort versions, USB-C video input and power delivery, USB hub ports, speakers, and headphone output. A cable, dock, or adapter can become the limiting factor.
Compatibility checklist
- Identify your desktop or laptop’s available HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C, or Thunderbolt output.
- Confirm that the computer, dock, and cable support the monitor’s native resolution and target refresh rate.
- Make sure the GPU is powerful enough for QHD or 4K gaming at the desired frame rate.
- For a Mac, verify the exact resolution, refresh rate, scaling behavior, and adapter requirements rather than assuming every feature will work automatically.
- Check VESA dimensions if the supplied stand is not adjustable enough.
What to do if the deal changes
Use a timestamp such as “Price checked August 18, 2026.” If the price disappears, the product goes out of stock, or the retailer changes the offer to open-box or marketplace inventory, remove it from the top picks rather than presenting the old deal as current. Do not substitute an expired LG promotion: the official promotion retrieved for up to 35% off selected monitors ended July 19, 2026.
