The 2026 CIO Hall of Fame class has 13 honorees, spanning technology, finance, insurance, healthcare, manufacturing, education and other sectors. CIO’s published roster lists each person’s title and organization; the class was recognized in connection with the 2026 CIO 100 Awards & Conference USA.

The roster preserves the organization names as CIO published them; for example, it lists Andrea Ballinger’s affiliation as “RPI.” Motti Finkelstein is explicitly identified by a former role. The other titles are the award listing’s stated affiliations, not a live employment directory.

CIO says it created the Hall of Fame in 1997 to recognize IT leaders whose contributions have significantly affected the IT discipline, technology’s use in business and the development of the CIO role. It is part of CIO’s awards program rather than a separate, independently administered hall of fame. The official page lists 222 members across its historical classes through 2026.
The breadth of the 2026 roster is visible in the employers represented: cybersecurity and cloud technology at Netskope; education at RPI; manufacturing at Whirlpool and Cargill; insurance and financial services at Liberty Mutual and Principal Financial Group; telecommunications at Verizon; technology and semiconductors at Intel; healthcare and biotechnology at Guardant Health; death-care services at NorthStar Memorial Group; student transportation at First Student; online employment services at Indeed; and life insurance at New York Life.
Several listed jobs also combine the CIO remit with digital leadership, strategy and transformation, or security. That illustrates how varied senior technology responsibilities can be, but the published roster does not give individual award citations or say that any particular role or initiative was the reason for a person’s selection.

When and where the class was recognized
The class is associated with the 2026 CIO 100 Awards & Conference USA. Its published agenda includes Hall of Fame-related programming on Sunday, August 16, 2026, including a CIO Award Winner Alumni & Judges Supper Club and appearances by several 2026 inductees. The agenda supports the date of that programming; it does not establish that every honoree was inducted in a single ceremony at that time. Event materials use “inductees,” while CIO’s roster uses “honorees”; here, both terms refer to the same 2026 class.
This is the class presented through CIO’s U.S. awards program. It should not be read as a universal roster for every CIO-branded awards program around the world. Nor should the Hall of Fame be confused with the CIO 100, which recognizes organizations, or NextCIO, a separate program. The official materials do not provide detailed nomination, eligibility or judging procedures, so the selection method should not be inferred from the list alone.

CIO’s published chronology begins with a 1997 class and shows subsequent classes from 2007 onward, with the 2026 class bringing the page’s listed membership to 222. The displayed chronology does not include a 2011 section; that omission alone does not establish whether an induction took place that year.
