For solo artists making vocal demos, the strongest choice depends on whether you need a sung draft from lyrics, an editable virtual singer, or a new vocal character for a recording. LyricToMelody AI is a good starting point for shaping a song from lyrics; Synthesizer V Studio 2 Pro and VOCALOID6 suit detailed desktop singing work; Kits AI, Audimee, IK Multimedia ReSing, Applio and UtaiSynthesizer focus on transforming or building voices. AI Song Creator, CreateMusicAI and Musicful offer prompt- or lyric-led song creation with vocals.

1. LyricToMelody AI
Choose this when the blank page is the main problem: it can generate a melody around your lyrics, let you hear the idea with an AI singing voice, and export MIDI and audio for further production. Its custom singing-voice training can use uploaded or recorded vocals, and separate stems are available for DAW work. The web app fits a browser-based start-to-finish sketch; its published workflow supports Ableton Live, FL Studio, Logic Pro, Cubase, Studio One and other MIDI- and audio-based production workflows. Free Starter projects are retained for seven days; commercial rights are included on paid plans. Check the vendor’s site for current plan details and whether your intended vocal style is supported.
2. Synthesizer V Studio 2 Pro
Pick this for composing and refining a synthesized singer from lyrics and melody. Pitch, timing, pronunciation, timbre and expression controls give a solo producer room to shape a vocal line instead of accepting a single generated take. It runs on Windows and macOS as a standalone app or through VST3, AU, AAX and ARA plug-ins, with MIDI support. It synthesizes across six languages: English, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese Chinese and Spanish. It does not clone a real voice, so check the available voice options and licensing terms before planning a release.

3. Kits AI
Kits AI suits creators who want conversion alongside other vocal-production functions: its listed toolkit combines cloning, conversion, blending, separation and mastering, with web, Windows and API access. The free plan lists 15 conversion minutes, one voice slot and zero download minutes, so treat it as a way to explore the workflow rather than assume you can export a finished track. Its strongest cloning tools start with the Starter plan, and artist-model outputs may need approval for commercial release. Kits says model voices are ethically licensed and sourced from artists; still check the specific model and platform terms for your intended use.

4. IK Multimedia ReSing
ReSing is a fit when you want voice transformation on your own computer and use a compatible DAW. It creates custom voice models locally and provides timbre, phonetic, expression, transpose and stacking controls. The vendor lists standalone use and plug-in support with five named DAWs; verify that your DAW is among them. Doubling can create additional performances from one voice for double-tracked parts, backing vocals or choir-style arrangements. The listed models support English, Spanish and Japanese. ReSing describes its license as perpetual, with no subscription; check model and import limits for the version you choose.
5. Audimee
Use Audimee when you already have a vocal recording and want to change its voice or build harmonies. The web tool combines voice conversion, isolation, pitch editing and stem splitting; its harmony maker supports up to five harmony tracks. The free introduction includes 15 minutes of conversions as a one-off allowance, 11 royalty-free voices and no custom voice-model slots. Paid plans start at $9 per month, with conversion caps on Starter and Pro; API access is limited to Enterprise. Check the platform’s terms and the rights attached to any voice model before releasing converted vocals.

6. Applio
Applio is the free, open-source option for technical creators who want to run voice conversion locally or in the cloud. It supports real-time and uploaded-audio conversion, custom model training, voice-model blending, batch inference, TTS, and CLI automation. The project lists Windows, macOS, Linux, Colab and Kaggle availability. This flexibility can suit a solo artist willing to manage models and workflows, but Applio itself does not establish permission to imitate a particular person: get consent for voices you use and check model terms before sharing or commercially releasing output.

Choose UtaiSynthesizer for an open-source Windows workstation that combines singing synthesis, voice conversion and model training. Its piano roll, multitrack timeline, node workflow, vocal separation and training monitor put several stages in one local workflow. The vendor says model training can start from a dozen minutes of dry vocals and take an hour or two; results and requirements can depend on the model and setup, so check its documentation. It exports audio, UST, USTX and MIDI. Commercial use is restricted for some model weights, so review the terms for the exact weights you plan to use.
Rank #3
8. VOCALOID6
VOCALOID6 is a desktop singing generator for Windows and macOS. Enter a melody and lyrics to generate singing; a single voicebank can sing a mixture of Japanese, English and Chinese. It also offers vocal-style replication, harmony creation and expression controls, with MIDI, VPR, WAV, VST3, AU and ARA2 workflow support. The product has a 31-day trial and no free plan. Since the feature description does not establish that every voicebank or style suits every genre, check the available voices and purchase terms before building a project around one.
9. AI Song Creator
AI Song Creator targets the creator who wants a complete song draft from a text prompt or their own lyrics, with melody, rhythm, vocals or instrumentals. Its listed voice and cover creation tools make it relevant to vocal creators, but the available details do not establish specific controls for tuning a sung performance or exporting stems. Paid-plan tracks include commercial usage rights, and annual subscribers can download license certificates. Check the vendor’s site for plan prices, editing and export details, voice options and the exact terms for a cover or voice-based project.
Rank #4
10. CreateMusicAI
CreateMusicAI offers two relevant routes: make an original vocal or instrumental track from a prompt or lyrics, or create a new vocal interpretation of a song and explore different singing styles. That makes it useful for comparing vocal directions during a demo stage, though the available feature details do not establish specific DAW exports, languages or voice-model controls. Tracks made under a paid plan include a commercial license for YouTube, Spotify, TikTok, ads and client projects. Check the vendor’s current plan terms and obtain consent for any voice used in a conversion or cover.
11. Musicful
Musicful is the mobile-friendly choice for generating and revising vocal songs from text, lyrics, ideas or uploaded audio. It supports lyric edits, song extensions and vocal or instrumental stem separation, with web and iOS and Android apps and MP3 and WAV downloads. Commercial use is limited to Standard and Pro plans; Free and Basic are non-commercial. The vendor says eligible Musicful-created music can be used commercially and offers a commercial license certificate, so check the plan and certificate terms for your use. Do not assume its mobile workflow provides a specific DAW feature unless the vendor confirms it.

Match The Tool To Your Vocal Workflow
Start by deciding what you have in hand. Lyrics without a melody point toward LyricToMelody AI, Synthesizer V Studio 2 Pro or a prompt-led song creator. A recorded vocal to reshape points toward Kits AI, Audimee, ReSing or Applio. If you want an editable synthesized singer inside a desktop production setup, compare Synthesizer V Studio 2 Pro with VOCALOID6; if local model training is central, compare ReSing, Applio and UtaiSynthesizer against your operating system and comfort managing models.
For a practical first pass, write a short lyric section and decide what you want to judge: melody, pronunciation, vocal character or harmony. Generate or record only enough material to compare those qualities, then move the promising idea into your production workflow where supported. Before committing, confirm the exact export format, language, genre fit and commercial terms with the vendor; those details are not established for every tool here.
Voice Consent And Release Rights
Only upload or train with vocals you have permission to use, and check consent before making or releasing a conversion, cover or voice model based on another person. A platform’s commercial-use statement does not establish rights to the underlying song, recording or identity of a voice in every circumstance. Review the specific platform terms and model terms for your project; where the listed terms are limited or unclear, ask the vendor before release.
