Saving more than €100 is possible, but the biggest price cuts currently visible are generally on refurbished or marketplace phones—not a standard Google Store discount on a new Pixel 8 or Pixel 8 Pro. Compare the exact model, storage, condition and seller before treating an advertised reduction as a real saving. The prices below are dated examples from listings and reporting, not guaranteed live checkout offers.
Pixel 8 and 8 Pro prices: what the available examples show
There is no single reliable “cheapest Pixel 8” price across all versions: listings mix storage capacities, conditions and sellers. The examples below show why a low headline price needs context. Delivery charges, current availability and return terms were not established for every example, so check them on the product page before buying.

These examples do not establish current prices for every configuration—Pixel 8 128 GB or 256 GB, or Pixel 8 Pro 128 GB, 256 GB or 512 GB—or for retailer-sold new stock. The observed Fnac category minimum is not a guaranteed price for a particular model. Its listings can include partner sellers, so check “sold by” and “shipped by” rather than assuming the platform itself supplies the phone.
Is the lower price for a new, refurbished or used phone?
- New: retailer-declared new or factory-sealed stock. This is the clearest comparison with a new-phone reference price, but confirm the seller, warranty and whether the device is unlocked.
- Refurbished: a previously used or returned phone that has been checked and resold. A Fnac listing describes testing and battery checks, while warning that cosmetic wear, generic charging accessories or neutral or damaged packaging may occur. The exact grade and protections depend on the specific offer and seller. See the listing’s condition details.
- Marketplace: the platform hosts the offer, but a partner company may sell or fulfil it. A familiar retailer name on the page does not by itself mean the retailer is the seller.
- Used: a private seller may offer a lower price, but battery condition, accessories, proof of purchase and after-sale support can be less predictable. No private-sale price is established here.
A refurbished Pixel at €437.53 is not directly comparable with a new Pixel at €399: the models, condition and potentially the storage differ. The apparently cheaper refurbished offer may not be the better deal once condition and warranty are considered.

How to check whether the saving is genuine
- Match the exact configuration. Compare Pixel 8 with Pixel 8, and Pixel 8 Pro with Pixel 8 Pro; match storage (128 GB, 256 GB or 512 GB) before comparing prices.
- Match condition. A refurbished or used price cannot establish a discount against new stock. Look for an explicit condition grade and read what that grade means.
- Identify the seller. Check who sells and ships the device, the seller’s location and how returns or warranty claims are handled. Do not treat a marketplace offer as a direct retailer price.
- Compare the final basket. Add delivery and any accessories you actually need. For financing, compare the total payable amount, not only the monthly instalment. Give a bundle value only to items you would otherwise buy.
- Use a meaningful reference. Calculate: reference price − checkout price = nominal saving. State whether the reference is a historical launch price, a retailer’s crossed-out price or the current price for the same model and condition. An old or inflated reference can make the reduction look larger than the real market saving.
- Check the final terms. Confirm return period, legal warranty, carrier-unlocked status and any exclusions. Recheck the basket: marketplace stock and refurbished prices can change before checkout.
The €399 versus €799 Pixel 8 example above implies a €400 reduction against the reference used in Frandroid’s 2026 sales report. It does not show that €799 was the normal current market price, or that €399 remains available.
What to check before buying refurbished
Before placing an order, make sure the listing or seller answers the points that could change the phone’s usable value:

- Condition grade and screen: ask what the grade means and whether the screen is free of scratches, rather than relying on a vague “good” label.
- Battery: look for a stated minimum capacity or a clear battery-testing policy. If neither is provided, ask the seller; do not assume a tested battery meets a particular percentage.
- What is included: verify whether the charger and cable are original or generic, and whether packaging is original, neutral or damaged.
- Seller and warranty: identify the legal seller, its country, the applicable legal guarantee and the contact for a claim. A marketplace platform is not automatically the party responsible for the sale.
- Returns: check the return window, who pays return postage and where the phone must be sent.
- Network and device status: confirm the phone is unlocked for use with your operator and ask for confirmation that its IMEI is clean and it is not blocked because of unpaid financing.
Walk away if the seller cannot explain a material issue such as battery condition, lock status or warranty route. A price €50–€100 lower is not necessarily worthwhile if you would be taking on substantial repair or return risk.

Possibly, but a trade-in estimate is not the same as an immediate, guaranteed discount. Google’s French Store process estimates the old phone’s value during checkout. After you receive the new device, you send the old one using a prepaid kit; a partner inspects it, and the amount can be revised if its condition does not match what you declared. Google says the old device generally must arrive within 30 days of receipt of the new one. Google Store France trade-in details
Use this calculation:
Effective cost = phone price − confirmed trade-in payment + delivery and required accessories.
Compare that result with the price from another seller, and compare the trade-in amount with what you could reasonably get by selling the old phone privately or through another buyback service. A private sale may return more, but takes effort and involves dealing with a buyer. Photograph the old phone’s condition, keep the shipment proof, back it up, remove Google accounts and screen locks, then factory-reset it before sending.

Google Store, price matching and financing
The French Google Store pages reviewed promote trade-in, free returns, price-match messaging and three-installment financing for qualifying purchases. The reviewed phone catalogue focused on Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 generations; it did not establish a live Pixel 8 or Pixel 8 Pro offer. That is not proof that Pixel 8 stock can never appear. Check the French phone catalogue and Google Store France before relying on availability.

Price matching is subject to the current terms. Do not assume a refurbished, marketplace, clearance or limited-stock listing qualifies, especially if its capacity or condition differs. Financing also changes when you pay, not necessarily what you pay: compare the total payable amount and terms with the outright price. Pixel 8 or Pixel 8 Pro: which is better value?
The Pro is not automatically the better bargain simply because its discount looks larger. Choose based on the features you will use and the actual price gap between comparable condition and storage:
- Choose Pixel 8 if you want the lower purchase price and a more compact phone, and do not need a telephoto camera or the Pro’s larger display.
- Choose Pixel 8 Pro if its 6.7-inch display, more advanced camera hardware and telephoto photography justify the larger phone and higher cost for you. It also has higher storage options.
If the Pro costs €150–€250 more than the comparable Pixel 8, treat that as the price of the display and camera advantages—not as proof of greater savings. Compare like-for-like storage and condition before deciding whether the premium is worth paying.
When a very cheap offer is not worth it
- The seller, condition grade or return address is unclear.
- No minimum battery condition is stated, and the seller will not clarify it.
- The listing omits storage, or the price is for a different model than its headline suggests.
- The phone may be carrier-locked, imported with unclear warranty handling, or blocked because of financing or an unclean IMEI.
- A crossed-out price is the only evidence of a discount; compare at least one current offer for the same model, capacity and condition.
- The supposed saving depends on a trade-in estimate that has not passed inspection, an unconfirmed coupon or an excluded marketplace deal.
- A bundle’s value depends on accessories you would not buy, or financing makes the total cost higher than paying outright.
For repairs, availability, price and timing depend on the device, fault, location, warranty status and service type. Google says mail-in repairs are generally completed within several days after receipt; many devices are returned in about four to five working days, though delays can reach ten working days. For a refurbished purchase, start with the seller or marketplace, then the retailer’s customer service; contact Google if the device remains eligible, or expect a paid repair if warranty coverage has ended.
