Boost Infinite Access for Galaxy is closed to new lines as of June 30, 2026. Customers who enrolled before that date can keep the plan and its annual upgrade benefit, subject to its payment, service, and trade-in rules. The offer was not a free phone every year: it paired a $65 monthly service plan with a 36-month phone financing agreement and credits tied to continued eligibility.
Can you still sign up for Infinite Access for Galaxy?
No. Boost says Infinite Access plans are closed to new lines as of June 30, 2026. Customers who enrolled before the cutoff are grandfathered in and retain their monthly payment, wireless service, benefits, and annual upgrade privileges under the plan terms. An older plan page may still describe the offer, but it does not mean new customers can enroll. Boost’s current plan terms explain the cutoff.
What did the plan include?
For eligible existing customers, the advertised introductory service price was $65 per month, before taxes, regulatory fees, and surcharges. The plan included unlimited U.S. talk, text, and data, access to an eligible Samsung Galaxy S or Z Series phone, global talk and text to more than 190 destinations, and North America Connect benefits that included roaming provisions in Mexico and Canada. Store-to-door setup and activation were also advertised. The terms allowed up to 10 lines. Specific devices and promotions varied. Boost’s plan page describes the included benefits.
“Unlimited” had a premium-data threshold
Plan details specified 30GB of premium data per billing cycle. Under the newer terms, after a customer used more than 30GB, data speeds could be reduced to 512kbps for the rest of that cycle. That is a meaningful limit for people who stream, use a hotspot, or download large files on mobile data. Domestic service depended on Boost and partner-network coverage; international and roaming benefits were separate from unlimited U.S. data. How did the annual Galaxy upgrade work?
The yearly upgrade was conditional, not an automatic replacement phone. Eligible customers had to make at least 12 scheduled monthly payments, keep the plan active and in good standing, and return the current Infinite Access phone in acceptable condition. An upgrade ended the old phone financing agreement and started a new 36-month agreement for the replacement device. The plan terms set out the financing and upgrade conditions.
- Finance an eligible Galaxy through Infinite Access for Galaxy.
- Keep qualifying service active and make at least 12 scheduled payments while remaining in good standing.
- Request an upgrade through Boost’s applicable upgrade process and return the current phone in acceptable condition.
- Receive the applicable credit toward an eligible replacement, then begin a new 36-month finance agreement.
The customer did not simply own the phone after a year. The program was built around returning the financed device and continuing into a new financing cycle.
Which phones could you upgrade to?
The plan covered eligible Galaxy S or Z Series models, subject to availability. The cited terms restricted customers to the same device family: an S Series customer could upgrade to a qualifying S Series device, while a Z Series customer could upgrade to a qualifying Z Series device. A move from an S phone to a Z foldable, or vice versa, was not part of the annual upgrade path. Higher-storage or otherwise higher-priced models could cost extra.

“The latest Galaxy” therefore meant an eligible model Boost offered under the plan at that time, not every configuration Samsung sold. Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series became generally available on March 11, 2026, but Boost’s availability and promotion could differ by model. Samsung’s announcement gives the S26 series’ general-availability date.
Was the phone really free?
Not necessarily. The offer used a phone credit against a 36-month finance agreement, rather than handing over a phone with no payment obligations. The terms described credits ranging approximately from $380 to $1,100, depending on the model and promotion. If a phone’s price exceeded the applicable credit, the customer could owe an additional monthly device charge. Taxes were due on the phone’s full retail price before credits, and a down payment could apply.
For a realistic budget, separate these costs instead of focusing on the advertised service price:
- The $65 monthly plan charge, plus taxes, regulatory fees, and surcharges.
- Sales tax on the phone’s full pre-credit retail price, due at purchase.
- Any down payment or monthly charge for a more expensive model or storage option.
- Optional insurance or protection-plan costs.
- Potential roaming charges beyond included allowances.
- The remaining phone balance if service eligibility ends or the required trade-in is not completed.
A particular promotion might offset a device’s cost through credits, but that is different from having no upfront tax, financing agreement, or conditions. Boost’s plan terms describe the credit structure and monthly price.

The annual upgrade depended on returning the phone associated with the financing agreement, generally the same device and IMEI. Damage, missing components, account locks, or returning a different phone could affect eligibility. The terms allow a limited exception where a qualifying replacement device was issued through Boost Protect; do not assume that a lost, stolen, cracked, or water-damaged phone will qualify. Use Boost’s designated return process and keep the shipping record and trade-in confirmation.
If the phone is not returned or the trade-in is rejected, the remaining financed balance may become payable. Other actions could also undermine the deal:

- Canceling, suspending, or terminating the plan could forfeit credits and make the outstanding device balance due.
- Switching plans could end promotional credits or other feature benefits; get the consequences in writing before changing service.
- Paying off the phone early could forfeit remaining credits.
- Failing to activate service within 30 days could result in a charge for the phone’s full list price.
- Upgrading before 12 scheduled payments was not the standard eligibility path in the cited terms.
Who was the plan a good fit for?
Infinite Access for Galaxy was most compelling for an existing customer who wanted a flagship Galaxy every year, valued a guided trade-in over selling a phone independently, and was comfortable staying with Boost and continuing a financing cycle. It was less attractive to someone who keeps phones for several years, wants to own a device outright, may switch carriers, or does not want to rely on a phone being returnable at upgrade time.
Data use also matters: a customer who regularly exceeds 30GB of premium data in a cycle should weigh the possible 512kbps reduction against their normal use. There is no universal dollar winner between this plan and buying separately. A fair comparison needs a specific phone, its taxes and credits, the customer’s service needs, trade-in value, and how long the phone would otherwise be kept.
What are the alternatives for a new customer?
Samsung New Galaxy Club
Samsung’s New Galaxy Club is a device-upgrade option that is separate from wireless service. Samsung describes an upgrade path after 12 months and a benefit worth up to 50% of the original phone’s value, subject to the program terms and eligible devices. Regular Boost service with a separately purchased phone
Boost’s general Unlimited terms advertise service starting at $25 per month, subject to plan terms and eligibility. A customer can buy an unlocked Galaxy separately and choose a current Boost plan, but the cited regular Unlimited terms do not establish an annual Galaxy upgrade entitlement. Buy unlocked and trade in independently
Buying outright gives the owner more control over when to sell, trade, or change carriers, but requires paying the purchase cost and managing resale or trade-in logistics.
