The 2023 Kawasaki Z125 Pro was a $3,399 mini street motorcycle with a fuel-injected 125cc single, four-speed transmission, 31.7-inch seat, and 224.8-pound curb weight. Its compact chassis, 12-inch wheels, disc brakes, electric start, and upright ergonomics make it approachable for urban riding and many newer riders, while its small-displacement engine is intended for local streets rather than high-speed touring.

Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. listed the 2023 Z125 Pro at a $3,399 manufacturer MSRP. Autotrader also listed a $3,399 starting price for the 2023 model. That is the original manufacturer reference price, not a guaranteed out-the-door cost: dealer freight, setup, tax, registration, incentives, and used-bike condition can change what you actually pay.
Engine, power, and transmission
The Z125 Pro uses a 125cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder, SOHC, two-valve engine with air cooling. Bore and stroke are 56.0 by 50.6 mm, compression is 9.8:1, and fuel delivery is Kawasaki Digital Fuel Injection through a 24mm throttle body. Ignition is TCBI, and final drive is by sealed chain.

- Autotrader lists 9.5 bhp; treat that as an independent listing figure because Kawasaki’s 2023 specification sheet publishes torque but not a maximum-horsepower number.
- A four-speed return-shift manual transmission delivers the gearing.
- There is no authoritative 2023 top-speed, fuel-economy, dyno, or instrumented-acceleration figure established here, so those numbers should not be treated as factory specifications.
Kawasaki describes the Z125 Pro as a nimble streetfighter with a fuel-injected engine, manual gearbox, upright riding position, responsive street tires, electric start, and a digital LCD display with an analog tachometer and gear-position indicator.

The low seat and short wheelbase help riders put a foot down and maneuver in tight spaces. The 224.8-pound curb weight is manageable when parking or pushing the motorcycle, although individual reach still depends on inseam, riding position, and footwear.

Equipment and styling
Standard hardware includes 12-inch cast wheels, street-oriented tires, a single front and rear petal disc, electric start, and a compact instrument cluster combining a digital LCD with an analog tachometer and gear-position indicator. Kawasaki’s styling description calls out an aggressive headlight and taillight, sharp shrouds, and a lower cowl.

2023 colors
The 2023 model-year specification sheet lists three finishes:
- Firecracker Red
- Pearl Matte Sage Green
- Metallic Ocean Blue

Is it a good beginner motorcycle?
For a new rider whose use is primarily neighborhood streets, urban commuting, or learning basic controls, the Z125 Pro has several beginner-friendly traits: a 31.7-inch seat, light 224.8-pound operating weight, predictable four-speed manual gearbox, fuel injection, electric start, and modest physical size. The upright posture and short wheelbase also make low-speed turns and parking less intimidating.

It is less suitable when your regular routes require sustained high speeds, long-distance touring, carrying a passenger, or substantial cargo. The 125cc engine and small 12-inch wheels favor maneuverability and simplicity over highway performance. Take a certified motorcycle course, wear a properly fitted helmet and protective apparel, and confirm that the motorcycle’s performance matches your roads and traffic before buying.
Ownership, maintenance, and warranty
Kawasaki listed a 12-month limited warranty for the 2023 Z125 Pro. Follow the service intervals and procedures in the owner’s manual; Kawasaki’s owner center includes a 2023 Z125 Pro service-manual entry. Kawasaki also promotes KPO oil-change kits. If purchasing one, verify exact 2023 fitment, included oil and filter specifications, and current inventory before ordering.
