Hailey Bieber’s Rhode Lip Case is still a headline-making accessory, but it is not a brand-new 2026 invention. The original silicone case launched in February 2024. Rhode now sells that model in changing colors and also offers a newer $46 Snap-On Lip Case for MagSafe users. The standard Lip Case costs $38 in the United States, before tax and shipping, and the intended Rhode lip product is optional.
What the Rhode Lip Case actually is
The Lip Case is a silicone iPhone case with a molded exterior holder for one Rhode Peptide Lip Treatment or Peptide Lip Tint. Its slightly puffy back, silky-soft surface and tactile texture are designed to make the phone easier to grip while keeping the lip product visible and accessible. Raised bezels surround the screen, but Rhode does not present the case as equivalent to a screen protector.
The lip treatment or tint is not automatically included. You can buy the case alone or add a qualifying Rhode lip product through the product page’s customization option.

Why it became so viral
The design turns an everyday lip balm into a recognizable fashion accessory attached to an item people carry constantly. Its bubble-like silhouette is easy to identify in photos and short videos, while limited availability and Rhode’s strong visual branding encouraged social sharing. Celebrity association helped, but the strongest concrete evidence of demand came after launch: Vogue reported waitlists of about 200,000 for the case and 400,000 for the accompanying lip products.
Those figures support describing the case as a media and social-media hit. They do not establish that Rhode invented the idea of a phone accessory carrying lip color, or that “viral” is a formal sales ranking.
Is Rhode’s Lip Case new?
The original product launched in February 2024. Later updates have included additional colors, support for selected newer iPhone models and a separate Snap-On design. In late 2025, Rhode introduced the Snap-On Lip Case as a MagSafe-oriented evolution; in 2026, Rhode continued listing both versions and seasonal colors.

Accordingly, a 2026 headline should identify whether it refers to a restock, a particular color, newly supported phone size or the Snap-On model—not describe the entire Lip Case family as newly announced.

Price and what is included
- Standard Lip Case: $38.
- Snap-On Lip Case: $46.
- Optional Peptide Lip Treatment or Tint: an additional $20 when added through Rhode’s customization flow.
- Pairing saving: Rhode advertises 10% off when the case is paired with a qualifying lip product.
That means a standard case plus the optional lip product starts at $58 before any advertised pairing saving, tax or shipping. The case itself is not a $38 bundle containing lip color.
Rhode’s current collection is at the official Lip Case collection. Limited-edition colors can sell out or be offered for only some phone models.

Which iPhones fit?
As listed on Rhode’s current standard-case page, selected versions are available for:
- iPhone 13, 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max
- iPhone 14, 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max
- iPhone 15, 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max
- iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max
- iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max
This is not a promise of support for every size in each generation. The page does not list every Plus, standard iPhone 16 or standard iPhone 17 configuration. Select the exact model in Rhode’s menu, including the difference between a regular, Pro and Pro Max phone. A 15 Pro case, for example, is not interchangeable with a 15 Pro Max case.

Rhode warns that using the wrong model can create button-alignment or camera-obstruction problems. Color availability may also be narrower than the gray or core assortment.
MagSafe and charging compatibility
The standard Lip Case does not support MagSafe. An iPhone that supports MagSafe does not make a non-MagSafe case compatible with magnetic wallets, chargers or mounts. If retaining that accessory ecosystem matters, choose the Snap-On Lip Case with a MagSafe-compatible iPhone or case.
What lip products fit?
Rhode says the holder is molded for its own Peptide Lip Treatments and Peptide Lip Tints. The product page presents options including Strawberry Glaze, rhode Vanilla, Salted Caramel, Watermelon Slice and Unscented, subject to regional stock. Similar-looking third-party balms, glosses or tubes may be too wide, narrow, short or differently shaped; Rhode does not guarantee their fit.

Protection and everyday compromises
- The integrated holder adds bulk compared with a conventional slim case.
- The case is built around one product shape, so it is not a general-purpose storage compartment.
- The external lip product can encounter dirt, friction, heat or accidental contact in normal use; that is a practical design consideration, not a stated Rhode performance test.
- Raised bezels provide some edge elevation, but Rhode says the case does not offer the same protection as a screen protector.
- Camera and button clearance depend on choosing the precise phone version.
This is primarily a style-and-convenience accessory, not a rugged drop-protection case.
How to choose before ordering
- Confirm the exact phone: match generation, standard versus Pro and Pro Max, and the listed size in Rhode’s selector.
- Decide whether you need MagSafe: select Snap-On if you use magnetic accessories; the standard case is not compatible.
- Check the color’s model availability: limited-edition shades may not be offered for every supported iPhone.
- Choose the purchase format: case alone, or case plus a $20 Rhode Peptide Lip Treatment or Tint and the advertised qualifying-pair saving.
- Assess protection needs: choose a conventional protective case instead if drops and screen protection matter more than the integrated look.
Who should buy it?
The standard Lip Case makes sense when
- You want Rhode’s recognizable bubble-case appearance.
- Your exact iPhone model is listed.
- You already use Rhode’s lip treatments or tints.
- You do not rely on MagSafe accessories and accept the added bulk.
The Snap-On model makes sense when
- You already own a MagSafe-compatible iPhone case.
- You want to remove or reposition the lip holder without replacing the phone case.
- You want to keep using magnetic chargers, mounts or wallets.
Skipping both is sensible when
- Your phone is unsupported.
- You need serious drop protection or a slim profile.
- You do not want Rhode’s specifically shaped lip products.
- The case-plus-lip-product cost is poor value for you compared with a regular case and a lip balm carried separately.
Alternatives by priority
- Protection and value: a conventional protective iPhone case plus a separately carried lip balm.
- Magnetic flexibility: a MagSafe-compatible phone case and a standalone magnetic accessory.
- Rhode’s concept without the full redesign: the Snap-On Lip Case.
- More storage: another phone case with a compartment for cards or small items, after checking its own fit and safety claims.
Availability
Rhode’s assortment currently mentions limited-edition colors such as Colada, Bronze, Pretzel, Sweet Pea and Black, with supported models and stock varying by color. Check the official product and collection pages immediately before purchase because those combinations can change.
The Bottom Line
The Rhode Lip Case is a $38 style accessory launched in 2024, not a wholly new 2026 product. Buy the standard version for the integrated case-and-lip-product look, choose the $46 Snap-On version for MagSafe flexibility, and skip either if rugged protection, universal iPhone support or lowest cost is your priority.
