Yes—TELUS offered at least some existing Koodo customers a $50-per-month plan with 120GB of data in November 2024. It was a customer-specific migration offer, not a standard TELUS plan available to every Koodo subscriber. The offer reportedly required a promotional code tied to the 10-digit Koodo number named in the email.
What TELUS offered
MobileSyrup reported on November 18, 2024, that selected Koodo customers received emails encouraging them to move to TELUS. One customer received the following offer:
- Price: $50 per month
- Data: 120GB
- Phone choice: Bring your own compatible phone or finance a device
- Redemption: A special promotional code
- Restriction: The code was limited to the specific 10-digit phone number listed in the email
The report also described a Pixel 9 financing option at $5.20 per month. At the time, that was less attractive than TELUS’s then-current $0 Pixel 9 financing promotion, illustrating why the handset terms mattered as much as the plan price. Different Koodo customers reportedly received different TELUS offers. One recipient saw offers for $60 per month with 120GB and $65 per month with 200GB, while another received $50 with 120GB. That variation suggests a segmented or individualized migration campaign based on account circumstances, rather than one universally published rate plan.

In practical terms, being a Koodo customer alone did not establish eligibility. The available evidence supports a narrower conclusion: you needed to be selected by TELUS, receive the email, and use the code with the named phone number. There is no evidence that calling TELUS and requesting the same price would guarantee it.
What the original report does not establish
The reported email terms do not clearly state several details that can materially change the value of a wireless plan:

- Whether the 120GB was Canada-only or included U.S. use
- Whether 5G access was included
- Hotspot or tethering limits
- Whether $50 required pre-authorized payments
- Whether the price was permanent or depended on a limited-time credit
- The offer’s expiry date
- Taxes, connection charges, SIM or eSIM fees, and shipping costs
Do not infer those terms from another TELUS plan. Confirm them in the original email and the order summary.

Is the $50/120GB offer still available?
The offer was reported in November 2024. The available evidence does not verify that this exact promotion remained active in 2026. Current TELUS pages show different pricing and conditions; for example, TELUS currently indicates that new monthly plans may start at $70 with pre-authorized payments, while its prepaid page says it no longer accepts new TELUS Prepaid activations and directs new prepaid customers to Koodo Prepaid. Check TELUS’s current deals page or your account-specific offer before treating the historical price as available.

What happens to your Koodo Tab when you move?
Koodo’s current migration guidance says an eligible Koodo customer may be able to carry an existing Tab to TELUS. The remaining Koodo Tab balance can be converted into a TELUS Easy Payment balance, while a Tab Bonus can become a TELUS Device Discount balance.
Important conditions and consequences include:
- You generally must have completed at least 90 days of the Tab agreement.
- The TELUS plan must meet the minimum monthly rate-plan spend required by the Koodo Tab.
- Both account holders may need to approve the migration.
- The remaining balance is generally paid over the rest of the original 24-month term.
- Tax on the remaining Tab balance may appear on your next Koodo bill.
- Tab carryover is not currently available through an online order; a store, authorized retailer, or phone support may be required.

Checklist before accepting a targeted TELUS offer
- Authenticate the message. Use the official TELUS site or a verified support channel rather than an unsolicited link.
- Match the number. Confirm that the offer names your correct 10-digit Koodo number.
- Write down the deadline. Promotional codes can expire or work only through a specified channel.
- Get the real monthly total. Ask whether $50 is the base rate, a price after credits, or conditional on pre-authorized payments.
- Confirm data geography and speed. Ask whether the allowance is Canada-only, includes U.S. roaming, uses 4G or 5G, and has any reduced-speed threshold.
- Ask about hotspot use. Tethering limits are not established by the original report.
- Separate plan and device costs. Compare the full 24-month device cost, not just the advertised monthly payment.
- Request Tab treatment in writing. Confirm the converted Easy Payment, Device Discount, taxes, and any amount due from Koodo.
- Check every fee. Confirm activation or connection, SIM/eSIM, shipping, taxes, and any required add-ons.
- Keep Koodo active until porting finishes. Cancelling first can jeopardize the number transfer and create avoidable charges.
Would switching actually save you money?
Compare the complete bill, not just $50 versus your current Koodo rate. Include your existing plan price, data needs, network access, device payments, remaining Tab balance, taxes, fees, auto-payment requirements, family or home-service discounts, and the duration of any promotional credit.
For example, a customer paying $49 for 75GB on a Koodo 5G plan might gain 45GB for roughly $1 more, but that may not justify a number transfer, new device obligations, or uncertain promotional terms. Conversely, someone who needs more data, a TELUS-specific roaming feature, a device deal, or a bundle discount could find the targeted offer worthwhile.

Koodo and TELUS are part of the same corporate family—Koodo Mobile is a registered business name of TELUS Communications Inc.—so switching brands does not automatically mean a different underlying coverage experience. Evaluate the specific plan features and account costs rather than assuming the TELUS label is better.
Bottom line for Koodo customers
The $50/120GB TELUS plan was a real, reported offer for at least some Koodo customers in November 2024. It was targeted, code-based, and account-specific. Treat it as a historical migration promotion unless your own verified TELUS email or account still displays the offer. Before switching, obtain the complete price and written details for data coverage, payment conditions, device financing, fees, and any Koodo Tab balance.
