Yes—eligible Walmart+ trial and paid members can get Paramount+ Essential without a separate Paramount+ charge. However, the current Walmart+ promotion may cost $1, the included Paramount+ plan contains ads, activation is required, and Paramount+ Premium costs extra. The benefit is also tied to an active Walmart+ membership.
This answer applies primarily to U.S. customers. Walmart says Walmart+ requires a U.S. billing address, with limited benefits in Alaska and Hawaii.
What “free Paramount+” means with Walmart+
Walmart+ does not give you a permanently independent Paramount+ subscription. Instead, eligible members receive Walmart’s Video Streaming Choice benefit and can select either Paramount+ Essential or Peacock Premium.

What each Walmart+ membership status includes

Walmart’s help content currently lists Walmart+ at $12.95 per month or $98 per year, plus applicable tax. Prices, promotions, eligibility, and availability can change.
Which Paramount+ plan is included?
The included tier is Paramount+ Essential, an ad-supported plan. “Included” does not mean ad-free Paramount+ Premium.
Paid Walmart+ members who have activated Paramount+ Essential may currently upgrade through Walmart to Paramount+ Premium for $5 per month plus tax or $50 per year plus tax, according to Walmart’s help page. This is a separate Walmart-billed charge, and Walmart says pricing and availability may change.

Do not assume the Walmart benefit includes particular shows, sports, local CBS availability, downloads, simultaneous streams, or device limits. Content and service availability are controlled by Paramount and may vary by location or change over time.

How to activate Paramount+ through Walmart+
- Sign in to the Walmart account associated with your Walmart+ membership.
- Open your account page and select Walmart+.
- Open the Benefits Hub or the video streaming benefit.
- Choose Paramount+ Essential, not Peacock Premium.
- Select Get Paramount+ or the equivalent activation button shown for your account.
- Sign in to an existing Paramount+ account or create a new one.
- Complete the account-linking and registration steps, then select or create a Paramount+ profile.
Use Walmart’s streaming-benefit instructions if the labels in your account differ. The exact buttons can vary by account and interface version.
Complete the process through Walmart rather than signing up independently at ParamountPlus.com first. A direct Paramount+ signup can create a separate subscription and charge.
Already paying for Paramount+? Avoid duplicate billing
Linking Walmart+ does not automatically cancel a direct Paramount+ subscription. If you already subscribe to Paramount+ directly, Walmart’s terms say to:
- Cancel the existing subscription directly with Paramount.
- Wait until the final paid billing cycle ends.
- Return to your Walmart+ account and open the Benefits Hub.
- Activate Paramount+ through Walmart after the direct subscription ends.
Check both accounts before assuming you have switched billing. If Paramount+ charged you after activation, possible explanations include a direct subscription that was not canceled, a renewal that occurred before activation, a Premium upgrade, or use of a different Paramount+ email address.

What happens when the Walmart+ trial ends?
If you keep Walmart+, Paramount+ Essential should continue as part of the paid membership, subject to Walmart’s current terms. If you cancel or allow Walmart+ to expire, the streaming benefit can end because it depends on active Walmart+ eligibility.
Walmart says a trial may automatically convert to the selected paid membership term and charge the payment method on file. More importantly, if you cancel during the trial, Walmart may terminate the Walmart+ membership and associated benefits immediately. Do not assume Paramount+ will remain active through all 30 trial days; review the cancellation screen and applicable terms first.
Can Walmart+ members get Paramount+ and Peacock?
No. The benefit is a choice between:
- Paramount+ Essential with ads; or
- Peacock Premium with ads.
You cannot treat both as simultaneously included under one Video Streaming Choice benefit. Walmart’s current terms describe switching between the services after 90 days, assuming you remain eligible. Check your Walmart+ account for the next available switch date.

Can a trial member upgrade to Paramount+ Premium?
Not under Walmart’s current help guidance. Trial members can use the included streaming choice, but the Paramount+ Premium upgrade is restricted to paid Walmart+ members who have enrolled in Paramount+ Essential through Walmart+. The upgrade is not included in the basic Walmart+ price.

Common problems and fixes
Paramount+ still asks you to subscribe
- Return to Walmart Account → Walmart+ → Benefits Hub.
- Confirm that Paramount+ Essential, rather than Peacock, is selected.
- Repeat the activation process.
- Sign in to Paramount+ with the account linked during activation.
- Check that your Walmart+ trial or paid membership is active.
- Make sure you are not trying to use Premium-only features.
If Walmart shows an active benefit but Paramount+ does not, check whether the accounts use different email addresses and contact Walmart or Paramount support.
You were charged separately by Paramount+
Review Paramount+ billing and Walmart billing independently. A direct Paramount+ subscription may still be active, or you may have purchased the Premium upgrade. The Walmart benefit does not automatically cancel a direct Paramount+ plan.
Paramount+ still works after canceling Walmart+
Continued access does not prove that the benefit is permanent. It may last until the relevant membership term ends, but trial cancellations can also end benefits immediately under Walmart’s terms. The outcome can depend on whether you canceled during a trial, after renewal, or after purchasing an upgrade.
When Walmart+ makes financial sense
Walmart+ is a stronger choice if you already want its delivery, shipping, fuel, or other shopping benefits and are happy with an ad-supported Paramount+ plan. It can also make sense if you are willing to wait for an existing direct Paramount+ billing cycle to finish before activating the bundled benefit.

A direct Paramount+ subscription may be simpler if streaming is your only reason to subscribe, you need Premium immediately during a Walmart+ trial, you want an independently billed account, or you want Paramount+ and Peacock at the same time. Walmart+ may also be a poor fit if you are outside its supported U.S. billing-address footprint or have restricted benefits in your location.
Important geographic and service limits
This offer is primarily U.S.-focused. Walmart says Walmart+ requires a U.S. billing address, benefits are limited in Alaska and Hawaii, and streaming availability in Puerto Rico depends on provider requirements. Paramount is responsible for the Paramount+ content and service supplied through the benefit; Walmart’s terms allow plans, providers, pricing, and eligibility to change.
