This was one of the strongest Meta Quest 3S bundles reported during Black Friday 2024—not a current offer. For about $299–$300, Amazon and Target promotions paired the 128GB headset with Batman: Arkham Shadow, a three-month Meta Quest+ trial and $75 in retailer credit. The promotion has expired; as of August 2026, no matching live offer is verified.

Tom’s Guide reported the Amazon and Target offers in November 2024. Their credit mechanics differed: Amazon coverage referred to promotional credit and a product-page redemption step or code QUEST75; Target coverage described a Target gift card. That code was part of a historical promotion, not a code to assume still works.
Was it really a $225 headset?
No—not at checkout. The cash price was around $300. Calling it a $225 deal is only a conditional calculation: $300 minus $75 of credit, assuming you would spend the full credit on something you already intended to buy from that retailer and can use it before it expires. If you would not otherwise shop there, the credit is worth less to you, potentially nothing.

The Batman entitlement also has value for someone who wants the game, but it is not cash or a guaranteed resale benefit. Quest+ is different again: it supplies subscription access for the trial period, not a permanent collection. Engadget reported that continuing Quest+ cost $8 a month after the trial at the time; that historical price should not be treated as a current subscription quote.

The sensible comparison is therefore the roughly $300 you paid against the hardware and the benefits you will actually use—not the sum of every advertised value. For a Batman fan who shops regularly at the participating retailer, it was a particularly useful bundle. For someone who would not use the credit or subscription, it was still a headset purchase at roughly its entry-level price, not a $75 instant discount.
Why it stood out—and who it suited
The Quest 3S brought current-generation standalone VR and mixed reality to a lower price than Quest 3. It uses the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 platform, supports color passthrough and Touch Plus controllers, and can stream PC VR content. It also accesses the broad Quest software ecosystem. Contemporary coverage called the 2024 offer one of the strongest Quest 3S Black Friday deals because it combined retailer credit with a major game and a subscription trial at about the headset’s standard entry price.

That makes the bundle a good fit for a first-time VR buyer, a family, a budget-conscious gamer or someone who specifically wanted Batman: Arkham Shadow. It is less compelling for an existing Quest 3 owner, a buyer who needs lots of local storage, or someone who prioritizes sharp edge-to-edge optics for reading and productivity.

The two headsets are not optically interchangeable just because they share a software platform. The Quest 3’s pancake lenses and higher-resolution display make it a better fit for text-heavy use and users sensitive to blur. Road to VR’s 2024 deal comparison put the 512GB Quest 3 at about $500 with a $75 Best Buy gift card, Batman and three months of Quest+. That was a materially higher outlay, but a better hardware choice for buyers who wanted its optics and capacity.

Is 128GB enough?
It can be enough if you are new to VR, keep a modest installed library and are willing to uninstall and redownload games. The operating system and system files also occupy space, so not all advertised storage is available for games. Large titles can use substantial capacity; a buyer who wants many games installed at once should consider the 256GB Quest 3S instead.
In 2024, the 256GB model was around $400 at regular pricing, and a later Best Buy promotion offered it for $399.99 with Batman, Quest+ and a $75 gift card. That higher price is worthwhile only if the extra capacity matters to you; do not assume a bundle’s headline gift card closes the entire gap. 9to5Toys marked that Best Buy offer expired in December 2024.

- Check that Batman: Arkham Shadow and the three-month Quest+ trial are included with that model and sale.
- Read how the $75 benefit is delivered: a retailer gift card, promotional credit, digital card or checkout coupon. Do not assume it is Meta Store credit.
- For the reported Amazon deal, check whether the product page has a redemption step or accepts the historical code
QUEST75. Do not expect that code to work outside the original promotion. - Save the order confirmation and promotion terms. Check delivery timing, expiration and restrictions for the credit; it may arrive after shipment or delivery.
- After setup, redeem the game and trial using the eligible Meta account and follow the applicable promotional terms.
Promotions can disappear while a product listing remains. Marketplace sellers, refurbished or open-box units, different regions and account eligibility may not qualify. If an offer is live, verify the benefit at checkout and in the terms before placing the order.

How it compares with later offers
“Top deal” needs a date. The 2024 bundle was strong for its time, but it cannot be called the best Quest offer ever. Road to VR later reported a 2025 Costco offer for the 128GB Quest 3S at $200 for members or $215 for nonmembers, with 12 months of Meta Horizon+—a different promotion with a lower price and a longer subscription period, but not the same $75-credit-and-Batman bundle. Because the original promotion is expired and no August 2026 replacement has been verified here, check live retailer listings rather than relying on old prices or codes. Compare the actual checkout price, storage, included software and credit restrictions. A gift card is only useful at the retailer issuing it, while Meta subscription access and retailer credit are separate benefits.
Verdict
During Black Friday 2024, the Quest 3S 128GB bundle was a standout value for a first-time buyer who wanted Batman, could use the full $75 retailer credit and was comfortable with the headset’s storage and optical compromises. Its effective cost was not automatically $225, and the Quest+ trial was not permanent game ownership. Today, treat it as historical coverage: do not buy on the assumption that the old credit, price or QUEST75 code is still available.
